Age rating?
So I’ve played through once and the language is not that bad, I didn’t see any nudity and the violence wasn’t too horrible. My 9 year old wants to play. I know there is probably worse than what I have seen, it’s just the choices I’ve made have not led to anything too explicit. Wouldn’t it be cool if all the nudity, language and extreme violence could be turned off so you could play with your kids and then you can turn it back on for when they are not around? I’m sure I wouldn’t be the only one who would buy a 2nd copy so I could play with my kid. But to anyone who has played through and may have seen the most explicit, how bad does it get?

the game is 85% combat so far, making it exceedingly violent. 10% of what is left is full of sexual content, alcohol, and so on. There are movies rated R that are more tame than this game. Teens have likely seen worse on all fronts constantly, but that isnt what ratings are for anyway. Ratings are to warn the parents that the thing they are buying has these things in it. They can then decide if its ok for their (10, 14, 18, .. year old) kid to have it or not.
some parents will say yes, some no, but they can at least be informed.

Have you seen the Minthara scene? Pretty sure that would take you to NC-17.

NC-17 came out after my when :)
Regardless, rate it whatever you want, the point was that ratings are just for parents to be informed. Once it is released, I am sure they will stamp it the standard way considering the whole package. Supposedly the upper ratings require proof of being 18 or something, but any 13 year old knows how to get around that if their parents don't monitor them in our online society. It keeps them out of the theater, so they go home and are 2 clicks from who knows what of any flavor you can imagine.

How do digital platforms even handle that? I mean, Steam asks you your age, but you can just lie.

NC-17 was the replacement for the X rating, used to designate stuff which isn't porn but which the US isn't ready to have kids watch. Not used too often; if you're going to get an NC-17, it's usually easier to just skip getting rated at all.

There is no nudity in this game, its only restricted locked on dump romance scenes only,(like in witcher styled and its not explicit).
While on player character's undressed naked are permanent remained censored behind undergarments(inspired from Elder scroll censorship from ES2)

blood, gore and nudity and sex scenes and death of children and other sensitive topics.
At youngest id give it to a teen not a child and only if i know my teen is mature enough

Thanks for the feedback! My kids have watched some violent stuff but not very
many years above their age ratings. I wonder if it would be worth it for the developers to edit out everything that makes
the game in the higher age bracket. And then there would be an option to play the expurgated version. I’m sure there are many who would buy multiple copies of this to play with their kids. Especially if you’re into 5E and you want to see if your kids will end up playing. Just a thought, I guess at this point
it wouldn’t as much be the money but the extra time and effort that would take.

They probably wont, i made a suggestion of option for removing that stupid censorship on undressed naked

Little gay but besides that

Yes, but older Mortal Kombat games didnt have graphics they do today. It's there is a pretty big difference between smashing colored pixel-characters that resembles human and doing it in today's graphics.

Also let's not forget about the problems it can cause if young childrens play much. Sleeping problems, behavioural difficulty, learning difficulties, etc.
Letting a 9 yo child play a 17+ rated game is not.okay.
(Also, I'm not saying these always happen, but the more they play the more it increases the chances, also most of the times the durations won't be limited to just a short amount of time)

and, lets be honest, the USA glosses over violence (more back then than now, but still rates sex etc as worse) and drives a lot of these ratings etc. MK1 ratings on anything besides movies was a fairly new idea.

Modern Doom was super intense with the hyper violence, im kool with gore but the frequency of it was even kinda hard for me, this game has gore but very tuned down as compared to other games. Except i cant think of any other game that lets you murder children.

get some kids games. don't expect a producer to alter a 17+ game because you want your child to play it... actually it might be a great time to introduce said child to the original BG I and BG2... and ice wind dale. by the time child finishes those, child should be 12-13 and already curious and talking with other kids. or have moved on the GTA or WoW.

Yes there is. Did you do every single quest and option in thegame? There is a cut scene that shoes naked women boobs nipples and all and oral sex. There is nudity and explicit content..If someone says there is then that means they saw it with their eyes in the game you just didnt lol
