So Mage Hand Is Broken (Lae Zael's anyways) (SPOILERS!)
Hello all,

So I just got into the Hag fight, where you're supposed to try and save Maryina, and I must say, I did an outstanding job, never even lost so much as 1 HP. How is this possible you ask?

MAGE HAND! I found out I could use it to push actual enemies, when in reality in DnD, it's not supposed to be able to move objects within a certain weight limit. Well, the Hag is 100lbs, and further more, when she cloned herself, she threw herself right near the pit...

So.... My original thought was to save scum it, to see how many attempts it actually took with a 5% chance to actually push the Hag down the pit, however, that was not needed, because the Mage Hand, can simply SPAM PUSH, until I actually succeeded, oddly enough it only took me like 7 attempts, and I pushed the hag down the pit! Cause clearly being invisible while the game is essentially paused in battle is fair.

I wanted to see what the hag had on her... But I'll settle for a Mage Hand pushing her down the pit, and instantly winning the fight, and saving the girl! That was funny, the Hag even went "AAAAAAHHHHHHHGGG!" as she fell down the pit.

Anyways, just a heads up if anyone wants a quick "HAG Fight" before this insanely overpowered thing gets changed, all by all means it should, that's not how Mage Hand works (supposed to).

-Mage hand can carry no more than 10lbs, so it's hard to believe it can push something that weighs over 100lbs.

Another problem with it is that shove is an attack and Mage had can't do attack.

Yes I talked about this issue earlier as well regarding target weight and pushing. Its very unrealistic. Funny...But unrealistic.

You could have sneaked around her by triggering combat with just one character while others go around hag's vision cone.

Actually that's way more broken.
Game should automatically be forced into turnbased mode anywhere as long as *and* player character is in combat.

Try to report directly to larian forum. Thougth they probably swimming in current feedback and bugreport. That's few weeks of EA afterall.

I'm not going to report something that's going to help me in the future. If they don't read every bit of feedback, regardless of where it's posted, that's hardly my problem.

I'm fine with exploiting the game, it's no worse than "Save Scumming" which I do very little of, this was more of a "Oh look, I can spam Push with Mage Hand until it works".

I am glad to read Mage Hand can be useful, cos everything I ever try to use it for just gets an "invalid target" message. I figured it was bugged and unusable so it makes me happy to see it can be used at all, never mind in very useful ways like you mention.

I had hoped that Mage Hand could be used by an Arcane Trickster to open locks and disarm traps but, sadly, that is not an option. :-(

Lae'zel's Mage Hand is a stealthed Mage hand. Look at the tooltip closely - it is not the standard mage hand. It rolls a stealth check on every successful action performed from stealth, just like every other action performed from stealth. The stealth check on ability success allows the player to spam push as long as the hand has passed the check.

Yes, and what's an Ability success with the mage hand's Push? When it actually hits, and it's successful at pushing something. Meaning the 5% success can be SPAMMED until it's successful, at which point, it wouldn't even matter because the boss is instantly dead, because it got one shotted down a pit.

No Mage Hand should work in this way, not even being tweaked in such a manner in Lae Zael's case. Mage Hand is meant to be a utility, not something that can instantly kill something 5 levels above you (exaggeration obviously, but the Hag is level 5).

ironically I tried a arcane rogue and the hand can't pickpocket or open doors / chests / anything useful at all that it could not do before.

When looking at the tome in the cellar i think? I kept getting the game sticking in a dialog and couldn't do anything. So just for giggles I had the thief pick the lock on the door and picked up the tome with mage hand and threw it into the room. The trap went off everyone was unhurt and the tome was lying in the middle of the room. Only problem was you couldn't interact with it lol.
I got frustrated and just nuked it in place from outside with cleric spell. But the mage hand did do what I had hoped it would.

this game breaks all sorts of rules of 5E i doubt they did much reserch on what the abilitys can and cant do in 5E

No, they did their research. They've simply changed minor things in 5e that they felt could give a more fun experience I.E - "Buffed Ranger".

Yeah I shoved the Hobgoblin king dude off of his throne into the pit immediately to his left. If you stealth the mage hand it automatically makes the percentage chance to shove 100% so I didn't even savescum it.
