Spectator fight in the Underdark
Is there any way to save the drow without them turning on me? I'm a drow and was super excited to see other drow but was forced to kill them. They're yellow, why are they hostile?

Yeah it really seemed that Act 1 was "finished" more or less but then you just have all those petrified drow kinda just there :l

Thanks for saving me time and patience. I've been trying to find ways to befriend the drow/bottle up that spectator with no luck. Now I'm just gonna kill everything.
:/

Because they've ambushed by that Spectator and last thing they saw a chaotic fight and panic. So when their curse is lifted they'll attack anything due to that confusion and stress. No time to spot a different group which is not familiar. They're drow after all, no mercy.

Besides, there was a "stone to flesh potion" in game. I've used it on a dwarf in Hag's lair. Maybe that potion works on these drows.

It does, but they'll attack you on sight. May be named NPC can talk to you but you cant administer cure without triggering Spectator fight. I'm more interested in the city they came from. I hope we can visit drow city in the full game like we did in bg2.

I tried it, but they just got hostile.

I have the drow friendly. But everytime i take to them. They want me to give them a gift. My character says "my reputation precedes me. Here take this as a gift." Then dhourn says "I'm listening. Then he has the half of the item that you need if you have found the icy metal before hand. How I got that to happen is I sneaked attacked the spector until he died not being seen by him once.. Then the drow are now highlighted green on my map.

They turned friendly for me after I hit them, I think they were charmed by the spectator. Their leader got killed though.
TheClamMan Feb 13, 2022 @ 10:08pm
they can be friendly but only if their leader is dead and if your a drow I think. If the leader lives then you'll talk to him and it basically ends up with his paranoia deciding that you need to die.

You don't have to be a drow, but the leader has to be killed by the Spectator for them to be friendly after the fight

Yeah, the spectator charms them. Focusing on it and not hurting any of them worked for me. If you approach it from the lower beach/duergar area then it won't reach as many of them. Might have to stone to flesh some of them though.
Conversation with Dhourn seems to change depending on race or if you're a female drow, and if you've found any of his competition in the search for the adamantine forge etc.
KingOfFriedChicken Feb 14, 2022 @ 12:40am
If you go to the forge first then back to this fight one of them does have dialogue if i remember correctly but they just get angry you beat them to the forge first and then attack. there is a basilisk potion or something like that, it cures petrified and works on them i don't remember if it makes them attack or not. however if you stun lock or kill watcher in 1 turn they dont attack you! cuz you know they are all stone lol
