Cleric Deities
Playing as a cleric, I was wondering will we get more deity options in the future? Just noticing some BG deities that are missing from the cleric list; a couple I can think of at the top of my head:

"Good" Gods/Goddess: Tymora, Lathander etc.
"Evil" Gods/Goddess: Umberlee, Talos etc.

Also, could someone please clarify for me, why is Bhaal a worshiped deity?

In BG2 ToB ending You get one of three options, stay mortal, be a "good" god or be an "evil" god.

You either destroy the Bhaal essence or use it to ascend to godhood. Either way Bhaal is destroyed. So why can you be a worshiper of a now, definitely, dead god (with no chance of rebirth)?

I don't think Bhaal is dead anyone at this point in the timeline.

I think he came back in an official D&D adventure...quite a few years ago?

Maybe it's not the same Bhaal, or you kept the name to steal the worshipers. It might be an oversight or there is one of a billion reasons/excuses they could use.

Or the ending ins't cannon...

edit:

There ya go, he got resurrected while I was typing this.

Definitely - you'll get more domains to choose from, too. It's based on DnD5e, where character builds are heavily dependent on subclass. BG3 currently has 3 cleric subclasses - Life, Light, and Trickery. The Player's Handbook has something like _seven,_ and IIRC Larian's intent is to fill out the PHB's options at minimum.

Ah, I see. I wasn't aware of this.

I haven't played tabletop before, so the only reference I had was the games. Thank you

I don't even think Shandakul is even in 5e but when I read the Forgotten Realms wiki on him it seemed as if he disappeared along with some other people for about a century or more and only recently came back, i want worship him again, he was the best for my Favored Souls back in 3.5

This is why I'm prob going to wait before I do a cleric play through. I always tend to play Kelemvor's in Forgotten Realsm when I played a cleric.

Bhaal has resurrect in 1482DR, he claimed the murder domain from Cyric. This was one of the important events who happened near the second sundering.

The game is still missing a lot of subclasses and doesn't even have alignment implemented.

I guess that's another WIP.
I remember the size of the pantheon from NWN2, and seeing it shrink down to 3 deities just doesn't feel right.
