Defeating the Druids
Going through another playthrough with an Evil Character wanting to see what it's like to be on the other side, the game played with about the same difficulty without too much issue and some pretty interesting options might I add, however I have run into a snag: during the siege of the Druid Grove, the final step is to wipe out the druids. Except that there's a TON of them and nearly all of them a ton of heals and you are given like four goblins to attack with. As you can imagine, that does not amount to much.

What I have tried: Confronting Head On, Using oil barrels and trying to cheese with spells on a ledge (was sort of working until a random goblin got to be part of the fight randomly and all the enemies started going up the ramp) though this method takes forever and I'm not sure if the enemies run out of healing spells because they were using a lot of them, rigging the ramp with traps like oil barrels to bottle neck them (this has failed due to enemies or goblin allies lighting the oil on fire way too early), and sneak attack stealth killing Kagha through the secret entrance.

Anyone else managed to get by this and have another idea?

i did this but i cheated, frankly.

I didn't have too fight many people because i wiped the front line that was at the door. As this was happeningI noticed Nettie and a ton of other NPC fleeing the area, when I went to look for Kagha and others they were all gone.

This isn't helping too much, sorry. But I thought that maybe knowing that some of them may actually flee the area may have been of value.

I won't say what else happened, but a lot happens if you can wipe that front line out. I know someone that did it legit (i think) and basically it turns everything on it's head if you do.

Hmmm, I will give it a go and see if I can recreate that somehow

In one of the encounters you find a flask that hosts an Observer. I tried to use this to sow havoc and it does indeed attack NPCs indiscriminately(it has around 100 hp and deals pretty crazy damage).

Perhaps you can use this flask during the fight.

Do you by chance remember where on the map the encounter was?

I killed the druid leadership first after they killed the girl (use the sleep spell). Then I killed their healer in the back. No one on the outside knows they're dead. I then went and stole the idol this lead to a war between them and the refugees. This makes it much easier to kill them all since the refugees are on your side as well.

It was about some gnolls attacking a bunch of people stuck in a cave. Not sure if that helps. The flask I found in a chest there and required me to do an arcana check to uncover its purpose.

Oh I think I know what chest you are talking about, I found one in an owlbear cave that needed an arcana check but I ended up failing it. I wonder if I spawn it in the camp if I can redo the check

The strategy is a bit finicky though. In my case I used it against the allied soldiers in the burning village a bit west of the cave(just to see how much of a threat it was). It initially kept 1 hitting Gale but later started attacking the soldiers. It did die but killed like 4 of them.

It would seem that, when I went back to the cave to try and find that bottle you were talking about (the chest I thought it was was incorrect) that the observer actually was already out of the bottle. :|

You can cheese the fight by posting your characters up on the cliff north of the grove. You can easily take half of them out and take very little damage.

like so. Takes forever and is not really worth it.

Hey thanks for the post! I actually found that spot right before I was alerted to your post but wasn't sure it would be able to hit things for the majority of the fight. But after seeing you post the screencap, I gave it a go and while it has taken a while, I got it in the bag.

I'm still on my first run and have already beaten the ♥♥♥♥ out of those pesky druids before heading west, I've not really had any problems so far. My party is my Halfing Rogue, Shadowheart, Lae'zel and Gale and I can pretty much run on basic attacks and cantrips without need for rest.

Yeah this game is all about cheesing ♥♥♥♥.. melee hits for like 10.. but if you drop oil and explode ♥♥♥♥ its 10x easier.. which is lame IMO.. thats the one thing i hated with Divinity is all the cheesing that wanted you to do.

Here's what I did ... tryign a different route now:

I killed the leader after she killed the little girl. She called everyone else in the building over including Nessie. I was able to kill them all. I then looted the ♥♥♥♥ out of that place, and when I exited the building apparently the tieflings had killed the rest of the druids. So basically I started the conflict between the two sides but by killing Kogha the rest of them lost. Later when I came back to the grove, it was covered in a poison cloud. So it was a pretty thorough cleansing of the druids by the tieflings, LMAO

The easiest way I found to KILL THE DRUIDS, is to use their own elevator against them. Before starting this fight, you should have made sure the elevator was raised to the top level. This will let you descend into the grove directly, instead of taking the long way.

The Druid AI is too dumb to use the elevator themselves, which allows you to keep riding it up and down throughout the battle, as you kite the druids to their death and snipe them with spells and arrows. If any of the druids actually climb on the elevator with your party, just ride it back to the top and shove them off for a pretty much guaranteed kill.
Yeah that's how I ended up taking them all out eventually XD It just took a while.
