How noobfriendly is this game? (coop with non-gamer girlfriend)
So my girlfriend isn't so good with games (yet)...I'm constantly on the lookout for very noob entry level games. Will we be able to have a good time on this game or is this too complex in game controlls?

It's mostly the controls which would hold her back. We do not mind playing this on the easiest setting possible just to explore this world together.

On a scale of 1 to 10 how much would you recommend this on easy/normal to noobs who never experienced gaming/RPG's before.

I wanna repeat that we do not mind playing easy mode or learning new stuff...it's mostly how fluid gameplay is.

In it's current state? Not at all really, there's still plenty lot of kinks that need ironing out.

It's turn based.

2\10

Ifyou want noob friendly rpg suitable for coop, then go for divinity original sin 2, its complete (so you actually can finish it), polished and it's far more "noob friendly" in terms of mechanics

Firstly, this is an early access game, so it's still somewhat incomplete and very buggy. The controls and camera especially are very clunky right now, even for experienced Black Isle/Bioware-style RPG players. additionally the autosave system is utterly perverse right now so quicksave habits are a must if you aren't keen on replaying an hour or two.

That said, if you're willing to put time in, Isometric semi turn-based RPGs are very easy to play and are quite forgiving on easier levels. The action is automatically paused at the start in BG3 and unlike pervious games proceeds turn by turn. Combat is challenging and based on dice rolls, but not Dark Souls hard.

You're more likely to ruin your day by a few bad dialogue choices and persuasion roles than by stuffing up combat.

I'd recommend playing through the first 2 Baldur's Gates first, and the NWN series. They give you the same world and feel and are amazing, even today. Nothing else comes close to an actual D&D campaign.

No difficult slider in yet, so
Hard as hell so yeah a 1!

i would also say 1 because you shouldn't introduce your girlfriend to an unfinished game like this stick with divinity original sin 2

This game is very noobfriendly. It was designed for noobs actually (especially those who never played BG and do not realize this is not a BG game)

Definitely DOS2 rather than this. PoE2 Deadfire would be OK too if that appeals to her more than the Divinity universe, but I'd say DOS2 is a probably no-brainer for introducing your gf to cRPG, everybody loves it and TB means you got time to babysit her through her turns at first.

I would say 0 or 1 because it still an unfinished product at the moment and without difficulty slider it will be very hard for someone who never touched this genre of game.

Its trolling or what? If it real, try fun games like Fall Guys, otherwise you will be single soon.

It looks like you do co-op so I'd steer you toward DOS 2 or Outward. Both are fun with 2 and don't have near the learning curve this does. Come back to this later. Scale of 1-10 I'd say 2-3.

That said for some people the best way to learn to swim is throw them in with sharks. You'll have a better guess at which end of that spectrum your gf is than I will.

Not new player friendly at all. It needs an almanac of some sort accessible in game explaining 5th edition rules. As it stands right now, it assumes players coming in will already be familiar with 5th edition D&D. They will definitely need to add this to the game before full release so newer players can access it, and understand some things better.

If YOU know how to play it and can answer character build questions, its fine. If you are both new to it all, it will be a little tough. These games do expect you to know sort of the basics for the D&D game system (does not even have to be the 5th version, 2-4 would be enough background) or the general party-based top down RPG style computer game concepts (eg POE or even divinity). If neither of you have any of that, it may not be a great pick, depends on the players at that point whether doing something new and difficult together is fun or not. Also, its not complete, would a non gamer be ok with effectively a beta test game?

Even if she's a noob at the game mechanics, they should be fairly easy to get into if you're there to explain. How a fight works isn't overly complicated in the end. Move, hit... spells if you got them.

I remember when an old ex of mine surprised me from being a "noob" into starting playing WoW by herself. Give her a chance.

I won't advice you on if you should buy it or not, but just don't underestimate your girlfriend :)
