So what is the most op class?
Now that we’ve had a chance to play, what class is best?

Wizard because it can learn anything.

Ranger knight half wood elf. 16 str 16 dex with 20 ac. Healing spells and a ton of skills.

Now playing around with a shield dwarf wizard though for the sheer absurdity of it. A wizard who can wear medium armor (ac 17 using Lae'zel's armor or the scale male +1), wield axes and hammers, cast wizard spells, and also learn healing spells. Also get +3 hps per level. Sure why not haha.
Wizard, without a doubt in my mind. Can learn any spell you find as a scroll, as opposed to just spells that are on the Wizard spell list like in actual D&D. Ray of Frost and Fire Bolt were buffed to the extreme. You can prepare and unprepare spells anytime you're out of combat, as opposed to at the end of a long rest. Lacking in defense, though, as the spell Shield is not a thing yet, but that weakness doesn't make up for all the ways Wizard was buffed. Besides, as you can Hide and Disengage as a bonus action, Wizard is much less reliant on spells like Shield and Misty Step to stay alive.

Any class you build correctly and can get the right stuff for. But wizard is the most face roll if thats what you mean.

It's funny cause nobody has the same answer. So far in my playthrough, the most OP character is Lae'zel. So I would say fighter. She can literally kill anything and has a good survivability.

I’m starting to think it doesn’t matter much as each class is that balanced we can end up having so many different opinions.

The main issue is that the game only favors Evocation spells as of now because there's no good School Implementation Subclasses. And non of the disables are as effective as the surface ones except Silence maybe. You already get high hp enemy mobs earlywise so the hp based disable spells have bad scaling in a lot of encounters.

Wizard and warlock seem very powerful atm but then again so is warrior with menacing strike and riposte + a 2 action turn and a possibility to reroll critical misses.

Tho as some1 said most classes can be op if built right.

So far i find the cleric to be the least good , at least shadowheart. As she lacks any offensive means, but im sure its possible to build her strong too, but its probably going to require a few levels for it.

fighter no doubt.

action surge for two juicy attacks.

the magic items for melee are superior than casters.

sure you can learn any spell but then you just get alpha striked first round of combat and your down.

And then, high level wizard comes and everything drops including the fighters.

lol 2 attacks don’t mean much right now with a lot of misses for 95% attacks.

There are no "high level wizards" right now when the level cap is 4.

Of course, i'm talking about later. Warlock gets outdone too.

I'd say warlock just because of the level four limit and the fact hex is a bonus action to reapply. You get a lot of potential damage with the options available for your eldritch blast. Considering how most of the current strategies for beating monsters is 'push off cliff' and eldritch blast can be high damage and a shove, I don't see why more people aren't thinking of it.
