Vulcan vs Direct X - Direct X superrior Vulcan always has a light blur?
I played for a while but i always thought the game was a little blurry - i started to play arround with FXAA;TAA etc. - but even turning it of didnt make it less blurry.

Then i switched to Direct X and now everything is way sharper? Is this a bug - something due to my setup or normal? (playing at 4k)

Is Vulcan not blurry for anyone else?

Very blurry, i was thinking This is Ultra? Looks like it came out before the originals, now i know to try the DX.

It's not that it's blurry, it's that it is rendering at the wrong resolution a lot of the time.

4K DX11: 45-50 fps.
4K Vulkan: 150 fps

Hint: Vulkan's not really 4K.

It says 4K, if I screenshot, the resulting image is 4K, but the actual contents of the image are like, 720P being upscaled to 4K, which is why it's blurry af. It's also why the framerate is crazy high.

I have the same problem. I will try DX11 as well. What a shame. :(

OK, can confirm. Something is wrong with vulkan. Direct 11 is day and light difference. Game actually looks like a game from 2020 now. Played with blurry gfx for 6 hours thinking that was normal :(

Guys, Vulkan is a low level API like DX12 and requires far more optimization to match the same performance as higher level APIs like DX11/OpenGL.

Early in development before API optimization it will perform worse, late in development it will perform similarly or slightly better depending on your machine.

Performance isn't the issue, and nobody has really said it was. It performs fine, it just looks like garbage.

Appearance is part of performance, you realize that right. Performance doesn't just mean FPS. and optimizations to rendering can affect raw frame performance and visual performance of the different shaders.

I mean, some people get better performance with DX11 instead of Vulkan, so I wouldn't rule out performance issues either.

Vulkan needs a bit of work, is what I'm going to take away from this.

Nvidia card. Vulkan = game crash. DX = Game stable. Not intrested in FPS, it's not a shooter

Did you make sure your GPU drivers are up to date? If you have older drivers they may not support some Vulkan features this game uses.

This thread should be pinned to help other players. Tried all as settings myself and couldn't fix the damn blur.

Randomly switching to dx11 helped me to get rid of blur at 4k as well.

I play on direct x 11 and it very lag for me, fps around 15 25 fps
But when I switch to Vulkan, the game's fps increase to 40 50 fps on high setting and 60+ fps on medium setting. Dont know what is my pc's problems. Does anyone know why !?

My pc is ryzen 1500x, xfx rx 580 8gb, 16gb ram and ssd 850 samsung.

You should get the Reshade soft and enable Vulkan on it, go to reshade main website Reshade.me and download the latest version, it's free.

I have same problem like you before but now I can run Vulkan mode. We should wait Larian fix the bugs later.

The game runs better on Vulkan, got 100% cpu on dx11 and vulkan. Dx11 mode use less ram than vulkan.
But vulkan is smoother, more fps less stutter. I guess its because we got low end cpus
