The controls are terrible, the interface sucks, and 4 party members is too little.
The controls in this game might be the worst I have ever seen, and there is really no excuse as to why they are so bad.

First the fact that you have to "unchain" party members to have them not follow and set off ever trap is annoying. There is not even a select all hotkey, and I really don't understand why you can't select party members with a selection box like in every RPG form the last 20 years. It makes controlling the game annoying.

Second, there is no button or hotkey to highlight objects that are interactable, and objects that have been looted do not give any indication that they were looted. This is something I can't believe was overlooked.

Finally the interface looks like it was designed for a console and that the PC interface was an afterthought, yet there is no controller support. The menus are clunky, they do not give enough information, trading objects between party members is annoying, spells do not have enough detailed information, and everything fills like a cheap knock off of Divinity. You can't even drag item to equip them, its horrible.

Another thing is the 4 character party limit, what the hell is this? At least give us 6 character slots like the original game.

Seriously it is bad enough that you make this a turned based game, but it feels nothing like Baldur's gate, and the interface is annoying and not fun. I really hope you can address these issues.

I hope that too, but it is difficult to be optimistic at this point...

Hold down ALT. Looted items will have the name change (empty) after them if you've... emptied them.

Looted items change from gold to silver if you've opened them.

Two massive errors in your second point: not so much the game, but PLBKAG.

Basically all of this is user error.

Refund it then?

can you not turn off turn based combat? D&D is basically designed for 4 players, and they are now working for wizards of the coast so D&D rules

It is EA and a year plus from release. EA is pre-alpha and designed to find big issues. Lots of people have pointed out reoccurring themes and UI, equipment, character sheets, camera, etc. are commonly mentioned.

Party size is a double-edged sword. Any 5e DM knows that a jump from a 4 to 6 person party doubles the length of combat and adds scaling issues. 4 PC + 8 goblins now becomes 6 PC + 12 goblins. Surprise, lack of AoE spells, enemies getting in rear lines, group initiates, etc. now becomes utterly deadly. Possible they can do it, but I can see why it isn't in EA.

Having played DOS2, I can tell you that the other way around is far more annoying. It's much easier to unchain someone for the 2% of the time you want to split the party, than the 98% of the time you want them tofether.

Check keybindings. It's alt.

I'm sorry, but what in the actual ♥♥♥♥ is this pile of objectively false ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥?

Eh, subjective criticism is subjective.

Radical improvement tbh. The originals shouldn't have been turn based.

but it feels nothing like Baldur's gate

Oh no, innovation! Seriously, if you played the originals, you'd know that's a blessing in this day and age.

I really hope you can address these issues.

And I sincerely hope they ignore you so we wind up with a quality product.

I like this game a lot so far and I am sure it will get even better. That said I agree with the issues of chain in what your followers do or not. As it is now many times the followers even if not chained go away and do stupid things when combats start. This is a issue that most be adressed. I would prefer that you could just mark with the mouse much like pathfinder kingdoms work. and also a select and deselect all button would be good. Also something really annoying is when your follower gladly run straight through fire or acid when there is a way around it. Also a issue that need be adressed. And I also agree with the hightlighting of items, You can use alt at moment but it doesnt show all items. It would be good if you could choose what you would see in terms of items. all, magic, over a set value or different combinations. I hope you will fix this because it is really annoying to need to sweep the rooms inch by inch to be sure you dont miss something.

You've literally made three posts stating you consider the price too high and won't be buying it at the RRP. You also have no mouse by your name (although, no doubt, you will now claim to have bought it on GoG).

At least keep your trolling non-contradictory.

Refund it, re-buy it in a year when it's done.

Really don't agree with OP's very subjective criticism at all.

4 party members is plenty.

I wonder if the 'don't like it leave' crowd in here has ever criticised something they are passionate about in their lives?

100% the interface was definitely designed for a console and very poorly ported for PC. The camera angle cant be adjusted up and down making it impossible to see very far forward, camera does not follow properly forcing you to use the rotate keys to keep it aligned behind char. Center and zoom keys are badly placed cant use them and the mouse at same time and seriously click to move is console garbage.
The game looks like it could be fun but the seriously bad PC interface compleatly ruins it.
