Is there 'woke real-world politics' in this?
Thanks. I have an allergy to woke sjw politics and so I don't buy those.
Just an honest answer and assessment please.


clarification:

"sjw woke politics" means:
1) Forcing a certain morality on the player character (eliminating any other dialogue choice except the 'right' one for example)
2) Never presenting both sides of an argument honestly and in good faith, instead reverting to name-calling against one side and 'morally just and upright' to the other.
3) Overwhelmingly discriminating against 'white males' for no apparent or logical reason.

4) Game setting is 'transformed' to conform to 2020 politics in a way that makes no sense in-setting

For example, nobody having a problem with a drow character being a drow because "they're not racist" despite the fact the Drow are one of the primary evils in D&D, whorshipping evil monster deities (which transformed them to what they are now, the very reason they are drow) and antagonizing all other races.
Or for example, suddenly getting characters talking about how black lives matter or some imaginary paygap and other things that don't make any sense in the D&D setting.

You have lots of dialogue options. Some have made me pause and wonder why that option is available. Dialogue tends to be very polar (e.g. this options sounds harsher than I intend it to) but generally doesn't get an overly harsh reaction. You can choose to get your character killed by dialogue options, but it's pretty well telegraphed.

There's a point a few hours in where you find a community very divisive on a particular issue. There are two groups that aren't getting along. Both groups have members that disagree on how things should go forward. You can try to influence them to your choice, but it generally is difficult social rolls to do such. I've only picked one course of action, but they presented dialogue options for the other course.

I haven't seen any discrimination against humans. I don't know if they have any skin-color based coding (I'm playing a male human, though I gave him an abnormal skin color because I was curious about the feature labeled "non-standard"). No one has commented about my skin color. No one has said anything about me because I'm human or male. The overall human cast seems very ethnically and gender diverse, so I don't expect white males to be singled out at any point.

I haven't seen anything anachronistic. Playing a githyanki will make it nearly impossible for you to recruit one of the companions early on. I don't know about the drow behaviors in-depth, though I've watched a streamer play a drow and has been functional in the game thus far (can use traders, can still talk to NPCs), though there are special drow dialogue options, and NPCs have different reactions to drow. I've never heard any NPC mention the word "racist."

Outside of making a bearded lady: No.

And most of your companions hate you when you help other people, and encourage abandonment and murder, so no moral high-ground to be found, so far...

I'm not annoyed, I appreciate his opinion.

The SJW tactic of making a thread toxic in order to get it locked won't work on me. I just asked a simple question and got my answer :) Also consider it a public service, many people want to know.

Havent seen any real world topics/politics in the game. The character creator lets you go crazy but i actually like that - better to have too much options than some locked out for no reason (many hairstyles are neutral locking them away would limit options etc.).

Yes, this game is woke because you can pipe your companions as whatever gender (meaning they are one of those devious sjw bi/pan-sexuals) and you can also put beards on ladies and give them male voices, making the effectively into one of those insidious trans folk.

So yes, please skip this game. You can be on your way, now.

I understand.

Look, it is not because of the politics exactly, but because of the incredibly preachy style in which they are delivered, in a way which deliberately invalidates the player's contradicting views (if any) and railroading the story, which makes up for very poor and very predictable writing which in many ways is childish and insufferable.

The definition of SJW politics when it comes to gaming isn't the presentation of a particular world-view, it is the preachy presentation of that view as the only good and valid one and anyone who disagrees being pure evil and dumb.

That's the reason people ask.
