Defending the Druid Grove from Minthara & Co
So I killed the Goblin Priestess, and tricked the Drow into attacking the Druid Grove saying I would help. Now I'm back at the Grove, trying to defend the place from being decimated - but the combat has so far been impossible - spiders jumping to the cliff and two-shotting people, goblins being thrown in barrels.

I've targeted the sappers and blown-up the trap barrels in place, but still no luck. Any help/insights is greatly appreciated!

I mean ideally to defend the grove you kill Dror, Minthara, and Gut while bringing back Halsin.
I killed Gut, and told Minthara to make a move towards the Grove, aiming to crush her and her party with help of Tieflings.

And that was your mistake, which you yourself can’t fix... I’m aware of your problem, the solution is to do it correctly and easily by assassinating and taking advantage of all three leaders while lying to them or saying nothing of the grove. You’ll just have to reload. There was a reason the refugees needed your help, it was because the attackers would have won every implementation of the fight even with the Druids.
Huh - weird. I think it's slightly poor design if this path of the storyline is an impossible option to progress in the game. There shouldn't be a "correct" way of doing things in BG really :)

It is not impossible, just very, very hard, because it was one of the worst possible outcomes.

I agree with this - there should always be different ways to solve a puzzle, if there is only 1 "correct" path, then player versatility and agency are removed. A Druid Grove is quite powerful, and Multiple Druids should be more then a match for a drow priestess and a Goblin Champion with a warband. Especially if you remove either the champion or priestess. The Grove itself would respond to the invasion, causing the wildlife to defend it, along with plants.

before the horn blows, put explosive in the places where the ogre will be and explode with fire ... It will kill a lot of them. About spiders ... Get ready to kill them quickly. The rest is much easier. Only you have to save before the bugle, because some of your characters have to be the first to blow up the explosives.

"Put explosives" - could you elaborate on this?
Near the horn there are several barrels that you can take down to where the enemy army will appear after the sound of the horn. Place several wooden ones and beside them some (Red ones) that contain oil, use the wizard to blow them up with fire magic and you will have killed most of the enemies (Focus on the ogre so that he does not throw boss goblins at you )
Just click on the barrel and drag it to the edge of the cliff and then from there try to drag it down, then use a character to fix the position.
I had to fight this fight yesterday for several hours until I realized I could use the barrels since the NPC says we should use this time to plan ourselves, so I realized that the other tieflings are bugged and are not participating in the fight, the only way would be to explode them before they do the same. xD
I kinda cheesed that encounter. I had two characters hidden near the cliff where Minthara will be and two near the horn. Once dialogue with Minthara starts, switch to the one of the characters hidden near the cliff, sneak up and push Minthara off the ledge. If possible, angle it so she'd be near an explosive barrel you set up and a suicide goblin. When those die, they deal massive AOE damage so having one killed would detonate all the nearby ones. Cast a fire spell or a fire arrow to the barrel and POOF most of them would die instantly giving you a big advantage.

There isn’t, you just have no foresight and picked the worst possible outcome and expected it to be easy, there is even a side to the grove where you raid it with the drow I believe. You just thought that a small army of goblins and Illithid touched warriors would be good to fight head on and got roflstomped.
Throughout the goblin camp there is like 10 powder kegs and 10+ wine barrels, did you not think they were useful? use all of them before fight, set it up.. you destroy that army in 1-3 turns.

Also I haven't tested this, can you poison their booze bowl? I saw it just before the doors in goblin camp and thought it was a missed opportunity.

I think this outcome is absolutely fine and a good idea as long as you have good prep and strategy. I might even do this one of my play throughs. have Leaz drink a giant strength and her Psionic jump. She'll be jumping all over tossing barrels like crazy. If goblins get out of the fire, use her to toss them back in. throwing is 100% reliable.
I mean all that fight requires is a couple barrels of oil, which are right there and a bomb or two, you can also shove the spiders off the cliff side as well. The barrel goblins can be stopped by blowing up the barrels with either explosives, oil/gunpowder barrels or the sapper standing close by. That fight was actually really easy though I found it annoying that you couldn't capture Minthara, the game freaks out until zevlor or another ai runs over and kills her.

Edit: you can also be extremely cheesy and place barrels around the area before blowing the horn and just detonating the entire area. It's beyond cheap but a victory is a victory.
