Death of [Possible Spoilers Inside]

OK, this one was very unexpected, and I want to know if people are OK with it, because I am not OK with depictions of the death of children in this game.

Making the children Tieflings does not make it somehow OK, because at least one child is clearly a child in the dialog, acts like a child, is afraid, like a child would be in the circumstances, and if you intervene, you get to watch a die roll, with a very high difficulty, to convince the person in power to not take the action that will clearly lead to child murder. Even after, when you ask the NPC, they say that it was no accident, and ♥♥♥♥ happens, more or less. This scene alone will get BG3 banned in several countries.

In a tabletop game, If I ran a scene like this, I would have a player revolt, and several trigger responses.

I am very disappointed, and concerned about this particular content.

Now from a storytelling point of view D&D has NPC deaths either referred or inferred, Oni as one example are these horrible creatures that sneak into people's homes and eat babies. A red dragon fire breath over the city of Luskan does not descriminate between the damned and the innocent, in other tales parents will barter with the very souls of the children with devils for power and prestige. The deaths of innocent provides an example of stakes, investment in the story, it drives conflict and provides a catalyst. Yes your character could side with the tieflings and kill every last druid in there. Or you call it an accident and leave it from flashing into more violence between tiefling and druids.

Anyhow it would be best to mentally prepare yourself for more such encounters in the game, if such things make you uncomfortable you may want to wait until someone mods it out or you may need to find something else to play. I am not questioning your comfort level simply offering alterative solutions if the scene continues as is.

That is concerning. My game is still downloading so I have to wait to play. I would up vote this post if it was on reddit just for the sake that the devs would be aware of it and remove this from the game.

I was more concerned about Tiefling children having the same face irrespective of their gender. And with NPCs dying on you left, right, and center wish anyone barely batting an eyelash this particular scene did not phase me much. After all technically it was an accident and not a premeditated murder.

Too bad, kids die during bad events. Anyone being immune would be more stupid. Maybe someone is not old enough for such a rated game

I was DMing for real and the party wanted to get a child and use him as werewolf bait. Neither the Lizardfolk, nor the Dragonborn cared much for this human child but fortunately he was saved by the sorcerer. Just sayin'.

In the legendary game of Fable 2, in the opening scenes your sister gets shot right in front of you. When playing the game, there is no way to murder children. I do honestly hope BG3 follows this theme.

Look friend if you don't like it or are very sensitive I think that steam has a more childish section. The game warns that it may contain brutal scenes or adult content.
