Baldur's Gate 3

Wyll died before he can be recruited
Wyll's introduction was rather anti-climactic as he died during the goblin attack on the Druid's camp. I tried to cast revivify on his corpse but found that I can't. Does he get revived later on or am I screwed?

I had the same thing happen. I can loot his body but I can't resurrect or anything (not sure if you are supposed to be able to resurrect non-companions, which I'm assuming he "counts" as since he wasn't recruited yet...)
I like realistic stuff like this.

Maybe on your next playthrough someone will survive and open up an entire quest line.

Key NPCs for the main plot need to be kept safe from RNG of course.

Same with the skill checks during dialogue. Embrace the fact that sometimes you fail and it's not wrong.

They need to have failure lead to fun things and new quests. To teach players that save scumming to always win every check isn't necessarily the right thing to do.
what happen you ran out of party member and all they dead, can you create follower or something as backup?

I rolled with the loss for some time, but after a while, my party composition nagged on me. Because of the lack of EFFECTIVE frontliners, I decided to reload the game before meeting with Wyll and did my best to save him.

I'm okay if these lead to perma-death once they add more companions or the ability to create mercenaries in the Full Release.

In the full game you can create your own npc, don’t think it’s possible here yet.
I had a little difference of opinion with Kahga, so I put her to eternal slumber. Coming out of her chambers I realized Wyll lying there dead with a few other people in their blood. Looked just like another group of adventurerers and thats how I will remember him. Too weak to join my crew >_> pff

Why resurrect a discussion that's more than 2 years old to chime in with this.
FWIW, I had the same thing happen yesterday. I didn't even realize he was a potential companion (I just started my first game), but I saw he had some pretty good loot and did a web search on his name. I guess in my version of the world he's dead. Is that a problem?

Has anyone managed to keep everyone alive? The girl archer keeps dying and I'm worried she'll have a quest or something if I keep going.
I kept all of them alive. There is no significant consequence either way... besides Wyll and that cheevo for saving Tieflings.

Also I see this is a necro'd thread... but who cares? I'm cool with necromancy.

yes. You get an achievement and +1 inspiration point (Lae'zel, if in the party, is "inspired").
First time I went to recruit him, he died. Couldn't revive him. I reloaded the save and did a better job of protecting him.

The other day, I went to recruit him and then he stepped into my moonbeam after the fight and got mad and attacked us. I forgot I had my autoloot mod turned on so I stripped him completely naked (by accident, it was an accident). I was able to revive him. Then he went inside and taught the children completely naked. Apparently, you can't recruit him outside the city walls.

So I recruited butt naked Wyll who acted as if I hadn't killed him.

Edit: I didn't pay attention to the original date of the thread. Whoops.

What a strange coincidence, as Wyll also happened to die on my playthrough. Granted, he was hostile and seemed to take exception to my slaughter of the tieflings and so I killed him as he was unable to adjust his perspective to better suit my own, but barring that it seems we have had a similar experience.
It happens

It's funny cuz players complain both when crucial toons can die and also when they can't.
