Does fire on the ground ever go out?
I've been standing in this room with one exit, watching the fire from these oil barrels I exploded on some bandits burn for a while now. Took a short rest, watch it some more. This stuff ever go out? I'd like to leave without getting roasted.

Use water on it.

Douse it with create water or jump over it.
You can get a staff with infinite create water for dirt cheap from the first vendor you see.

So, is that a 'no'? I get that I can do the Original Sin thing with fire on the ground, but I want to know if it'll ever go out on its own.

Just like in Divinity Original Sin. Does it create a steam cloud?
Nope, not here.

I don't think so so but Gale (Wizard Companion) can use the Ray of Frost cantrip and Shadowheart (Cleric Companion) can use the Create Water spell to extinguish fire or you can look around for a non-magical solution too. . .

What about a Necrotic Aura? Water won't put that out, will it?

If the fire was already there it will stay there but im pretty sure something like a grease plus fire you set up yourself is eventually going away once the grease has burned. (Pretty sure i had it happen but not 100% sure)

Similar to DOS, most fire that's there when you arrive will remain until you put it out somehow.

Well, it's been long enough that, if this was supposed to go out on its own, it's bugged.
This fire I made by blowing up oil barrels with a flaming arrow, not fire that was there when I arrived.
Thanks for the replies.
