Yeah hopefully its a temporary measure form not getting the chose the best AC to work , I notice that Monk and Barbarian are also left out of the early access. So I am guessing they are still working on that. And for a work around make you not wear armor to use mage armor. Just a hunch.
that does make sense, something tells me the divinity engine was not made to take something like AC into consideration.

Actually, if you read the spell for mage armor 5e it does specify that you touch a willing creature that is not wearing armor. So that is part of DnD not Baldur's Gate doing that.
We need "underwear armor"
shows how much I use mage armor in 5e huh? use it a lot in 3.5, but for 5e I much prefer shield spam.
