what are my options for lockpicking?
I kinda dislike the rogue companion, and would like to have cleric and fighter gals + wizard guy in my party, so I'm weighting my options to be able to pick open doors and chests:

Rogue MC - I'm not particulary fond of rogues so I would like to avoid playing as one if possible
Ranger with urban focus (not sure exact naming) - so far I'm leaning towards this option
Warlock - I realy like warlock class and I've heard they get fey or imp familiar at lvl 3. I remember fey familiars being able to pick locks in NWN games, but is this a thing in this game?

Anything else I'm missing?

Just a bump cause this is interesting.

Also -haven't got the game yet- but I usually get by with bashing chests or not opening them at all if there's not much of a loss for skipping them. Also trigger-disarm traps worked in BG1-2. Any of these seem possible here?

Edit: I also used in BG1-2 the 'knock' spell with my cleric. Won't untrap but will unlock.

If they add tool proficient options to the back rounds any class could open locks with thieves tools I believe.

Be Lawful and stop breaking into things! They have locks for a reason!

Well if you don't want to make a rogue AND you don't like the rogue character, you simply can't lockpick. Why would everything be available to everyone? Make choices based on what you like, I'm 99 % certain you can finish the game without a lockpicker in your team. RPG's aren't build on the fact that you can have everything.

As a side note, why don't you like the vampire? I mean vampire, I mean "pale elf" with red eyes and blood dripping from his mouth in the group picture

For reasons unknown to me, elves are my least liked fantasy race and he seems like trouble. But I'm deffinetly trying him out in my latter playthoughs.

Anyone can lock pick I would just make sure I had a “lock picker” which would be someone with at least a +2 dex modifier which isn’t hard to do that and still have whatever class you wanted 🤔

I just click the go to camp button, grab astarian, unlock, back to camp and replace him. That's only with like 18+ DC traps, my warlock has sleight of hand and can get the rest.
