Baldur's Gate 3

Statistiche:
Spectator mode for online?
Hi! I like to watch my sister play BG3, but I have to do it over Discord; and I don't want to pay for Discord just to watch her play a game I own in 720p@30fps.

I'd rather watch in high quality on my machine in the game engine, but the only way to do that is joining her game. When I join her game, I'm forced to take control of at least one character.

Can I spectate a game? I own my own copy, so I'd like to just load it up and watch her in the actual game itself but not have control of a character.

You can try using Steam broadcasting.
there's some twitch integration, don't know what that entails since i don't stream
I'd also not like to use Steam broadcasting.

Discord allows streaming ultrawide resolutions even if it's still limited to 720px height. Steam broadcast limits you to 1920x1080 and letter boxes ultrawide resolutions. It's even lower quality than Discord because I can't fullscreen it. In fact, if I try that, I get letter and pillar boxing.

My goal is to become a spectator in her game inside of BG3 itself (where I'll see the highest quality graphics). May other games allow you to spectate; specifically RTS and fighting games.

All Larian has to do is remove the restriction around each player requiring at least one assigned character.
