How Do I Escape Battle?
Enemies ambushed me. My characters are now miles away and out of sight yet the battle is still going on. How do I get rid of that? How do I leave combat?

I'm not sure how you leave, but you can have your other character come and join in the battle.

... The reason I'm asking is because that is a very risky option considering I got ambushed unprepared. So, running away isn't an option in this game?

Unfortunately no, not right now

Dash, run towards your party, jump as your BA, pray there are no ranged enemies?

I think if you use hide with all your characters you coudl possibly end the combat but not 100% certain.

Once you get out of sight and crouch/hide, combat effectively ends. I've been able to do it a few times. Sometimes, if an NPC is neutral and then combat starts, they'll go back to neutral. In the case of Pandina at the Druid's grove, her dot will turn red and she calls for the guards, and all the yellow dots turn red. But if there aren't any guards in the immediate area, after one round of no attacks, they all turn back to yellow. Pass without a trace and Invisibility should help

My entire party are grouped together, well-hidden. Figured escaping would be the better option still but if I have to fight I guess I will do.

Weird. Must be a bug then because that's exactly what I did.

I've been able to escape combat with Astarion. He's got the Bonus Action Dash and Actual Dash combined with Jump for getting a lot of distance between him and the enemies. Any other non-rogue character would have a hard time understandably. Someone not versed in the way of a Rogue wouldn't be able to make the same dashing escape, makes sense?

As I keep saying, my characters were miles away. Literally. Like,at least +20 turns worth of movement. No sight on none of them either, obviously, and they were all sneaking. So...

to escape battle , quick save the game every time , and reload to a previous one..
if you want to avoid battles you can sneak through enemy territory ,which is awesome , but you will need to move them one by one.. and pay attention to the highlighted terrain in red , when enemy near.. it shows in which direction the goblin security are watching , so you will save a ton of time sneaking ,stealthily avoiding guarded zones ,but sometimes is not possible and you need to fight.. if you need to fight too many enemies.. try to hit and retreat some step back tactics and repeat., pulling them away of their guarded zone ,will allow you to take them in smaller groups.. and use grease skill ,(the pig icon magic skill) is very useful to slow them when chasing you or fall , also use the ice skills to knockdown them.. delaying their advance or sleep magic. or paralzie ,to run away of combat ,you have to do it stealthily.. an action skill all characters have ,and to fight big groups is better to do it pulling them with long range attacks.. to separate their group.. there are ways to avoid combat too with dialogue , this game is pure genius design ,hope to see become a new standard for rpg games.. only missing thing is 3rd person camera view gameplay and photomode.. to truly enjoy the world.

- When your unit(s) are X meters away from enemies you can flee the fight
- When you are invis, move and enemies run towards your original position but can't find you.
- When you play-dead out of line of detection.

Any other ways?

Are you sure you didn't leave a summons behind somewhere? And you did exit Tactical Mode, yes?

You can run away if you are something like 27m away from an enemy. The flee button replaces the camp button in combat. It is red.
