So about killing Gale.....
If say.... I clubbed him over the head and left him to rot. Does he go BOOM at some point? Or can I move on? I saw some old posts about this, but wasn't sure if it has changed.

If you recruited him and don't want him anymore, just keep him around and be mean to him. You will get a few opportunities to kick him out. This is more likely if you've already gotten his scene asking for items and do not give him any.

There are times however that Gale's dialogue doesn't trigger and he won't say a word to you. You're stuck with him at that point. Just keep him at camp. Next time, just don't recruit him.

Yes cause god forbid you have a character that needs some magical equipment in order to hold off a terrible event from a story perspective. God forbid you'd ever have to consider sacrificing something cool you found one day for a friend who needed your help.
But I guess in a role playing game acting like a selfish nob end is also a role you can play.

Hmmm. Probably going to lean on just never using him for the time being. Thanks!

Not true.
I have not had game over, and he is a putrid pile of Gale ♥♥♥♥. I have no intention of rezzing him and I have the skeleton to do it on the cheap. Not doing it. No way. No how, Game still running.

Huh, not sure why people seem to be so desperate to kill Gale off.

I do not lie. Whether or not it occurred in your specific circumstance or not, it is still coded into the game to occur.

Oh deary me, how dare we to challenge HER? Yikes... this is why I mostly stopped using these forums.

Could've been a bug or something happened which you didn't intend to. Either way, the best way to not deal with any companion is to just not recruit them.

For me, it's more of the matter of the ability to kill ANY companion and what may happen afterwards. I find the vamp to be the most annoying followed by Shadowheart. I was just curious if there was a consequence if you left him for dead. Right now he only wants the items I have equipped to party members currently so it gets bothersome when he keeps complaining about how you need to pay for his stupidity.

You did not like my delivery? It is what it is.

Besides, is my obviously exaggerated response worse than calling one of the most good-aligned companions a pile of ♥♥♥♥ and leaving him to rot? I answered the question without nitpicking the premise. Then I provided evidence when I was incorrectly questioned.

It will not be me who stops you from coming to these forums. I am downright polite in comparison.

I will question whatever I desire.
The fact remains I have rested many more times than 2 and Gale is dead, so your data is either incomplete or flawed, and your attitude is completely out of line, but hey I will let it slide... this time.

Because he is written as a smug ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, not even that great as a mage. His entire introduction and the way he flirted with Shadowheart without knowing ANYTHING makes him grate on my nerves. Then his instructions on resurrecting him, ridiculous. Add to this that I have had no negative consequence from leaving the pos dead, and well, there you go. He needs to go, unless you fancy a smug ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ as a companion.

Only Shadowheart is really essential as a companion, and only until they provide another cleric option. Astarion is useless. He can also die.
