So 1d10 means 1 roll of a 10 sided dice, a random number between 1-10.
3d6 would mean 3 six sided dice rolled, between 3-18.
im assuming so, no attack roll uses a d10, so i assume your using a spell that does d10 damage, you'd hjave to tell me
Depends
If it's a spell attack then its your spell attack mod + a roll of a d20 against their AC (Armour class)
So if you were a level 1 wizard with 16 int casting firebolt...
It would be D20 + 5. 16 grants a +3 mod, and your proficiency stacks with your chance to hit, bringing it to +5 to hit.
Most spells will be a spell save. So if it's a spell where they have to roll a save or be affected by your spell, your spell save difficulty is 8 + Proficiency + Int (As a wizard). So 13 in this example.
If it's a con save, the opponent has to get 13 or higher (including their modifier in that stat) to pass the saving throw.
That's the short version.
This is a D&D game using tabletop rules, so everything is based around dice rolls.
d4 = 4 sided dice
d6 = 6 sided
d8 = 8 sided
d10 = 10 sided
d12 = 12 sided
d20 = 20 sided
d100 = 100 sided
1d10 = Roll a 10 sided dice once. For a total range of 1-10.
3d10 = Roll a 10 sided dice three times for a tota range of 3-30.
4d8 = Roll an 8 sided dice for times for a total range of 4 - 32.
It’s easy to figure out at a glance once you’ve gotten used to seeing the number values used in this way. Just think of everything in terms of playing tabletop with dice and it makes more sense.
