No Dialogue Sound?
Is this happening to anyone else? All the sound works, until I interact with someone, at which point neither the PC nor the NPC character voice comes through. Wondering if this is happening for anyone else, or if you have thoughts on how to fix it.

Weird issue to have but the spatial audio helped for anyone using Steelseries Arctis headsets.

Yeah I'm having this issue. Logitech g733 and all sounds are actually amazing.. but 0 voices. Only when I have my headphones on (which I can hear voices in all my other games)

After verifying the integrity of the game files the voices returned, yay!

En..
1) Go to the sound settings.
2)Scroll to the bottom.
3)We are interested in the parameter "Forced mono sound". Turn it on and the sound will be restored.
.. don't thank me:steamhappy:

Rus..
1)Заходим в настройки звука
2)Листаем в самый низ.
3)Нас интересует параметр "Принудительный моно звук". Включаем его и звук восстановится.
Всего доброго:D

none of these solutions have helped. lenovo yoga 14s, gog version no voice sound on linux or windows, but all other sounds work perfectly, including chatter, just the set lines don't work. spacial audio, wired headphones, mono audio. nothing. I'm at a loss as to how to fix this

Whelp, the game is out and the issue persists. The only seemingly consistent fix I have seen suggested is changing the sound to mono or stereo only. While great, it completely negates the purpose of owning a 5.1 or higher grade system. Great game, some damn frustrating bugs for a game that has been in beta for 3 years.

I fixed it by verifying
voices.pak was incomplete

Hey I’m having an issue with the character voices. When I’m creating my own character the voices don’t play. Then when I’m in game I only have subtitles and no audio of the characters talking. Can some one help

I have the same problem. There is no dialogue sound. I tried to enable/disable spatial sound and enable/disable Forced mono sound but it didn't change anything.

Verifying files worked for me

I never post but chiming in as I've recently encountered this issue and (I think) I've managed to fix it for me. To address some of the other potential fixes posted here - I use headphones, Spatial sound (Off) as I've always had it, I verified game files multiple times, I've not touched any of my sound settings. None of that worked, though TruncatedCakes message about Voice.pak file led me to investigate.

In steamapps > common > Baldurs Gate 3 > Data , there's a file called Voice.pak. This file was showing as last modified in 07/23 whereas most other files have recently been modified (02/24) due to game updates, so this stood out. I moved Voice.pak out of the Data folder and ran a Verify files on Steam hoping it'd redownload the Voice.pak file. It did not, but when launching the game, the Dialogue audio was suddenly back. Additionally there was no error about data mismatch on the launcher.

Hesitant, I tested by moving the Voice.pak file back into the Data folder. Ran the game again, and Dialogue audio didn't work.

I once again moved the Voice.pak file out of the Data folder, ran the game, and suddenly the Dialogue audio worked again.

I have no idea why this worked, but considering it hadn't been modified by any recent update and the launcher doesn't detect a data mismatch when it's not present, maybe it's just a redundant file and it was conflicting with something?

TL;DR go to steamapps > common > Baldurs Gate 3 > Data, and delete/move(if you want to keep a backup) the file Voice.pak.

Load up the game and test.

This worked for me, might not work for everyone, but just wanted to pop it into the pot of potential fixes.
