Ugly faces
Disappointed by the lack of complex character customisation, and the pre-set faces for males aren't much to look at. Tried making a male human? It's just different shades of ugly.

I am suspecting some slight SJW shenanigans, or maybe we'll get more options when the game is fully released.

Refunding until then.

Yes, I'm that shallow.

Head 4 is all I need.

Indeed. There needs to be more options. Impossible to make a good looking human, only elves allowed.

i do miss some of the face variety from dos2, even if they were all presets as well they had some real character
wonder if they had to tone it down in exchange for facial animations in cutscenes (lame trade-off, kinda wish cutscenes weren't even a thing) or if proper character creation is gonna be a full release thing

Because it's everywhere! /s
Absolutely deranged

Anyway, Divinity didn't do much better in the human faces department outside of 2D art, so this really doesn't seem to be the studio's strong suit

Why so triggered? Social justice is quite common in western entertainment. No need to lash out just because he has a different opinion about it.

Cutscenes are the best. Can't stand watching unfinished scenes play out from above, it takes away some life from the characters, no gestures, mimics, no face reactions. I dont think it was a tradeoff, rather than that they didn't put much emphasis on some races faces

"Faces in this game are bad, must be because of GIRLS or something"
Actual fifth grader mindset

Well, because it's a rather random comment paired with "ugly faces" in BG3. That's like calling white bread racist because it's rather common.

More importantly, people see SJW stuff in pretty much everything these days. It's slowly starting to hurt and not the fun kind.

My spider sense is telling me this thread will be locked down sooner rather than later. Please do.

Maybe because its normalized and common? Why get triggered for calling a spade a spade? It doesn't need to be locked down if everyone keeps it unhostile and polite. What the OP meant is obvious, hes frustrated theres a lack of choice to make his type of character that isn't "diverse" and about the lack of more choice in general, which I'm certain most can agree on at least

Still, lack of choice in-game is still not a SJW thing. Keep in mind, it's still in EA and there's still not everything in yet. If it were, then, I guess it's a fair point to whomever it concerns but for most people, if not the majority, they couldn't care less.

If the thing one's looking for or expecting is not in yet, they should either wait until it's in or adapt to what's already there. It's really not that hard or that big of a deal, to be honest. Most people really just need an excuse to vent their issues or whatever, especially here it would seem, be heard in some capacity and call it a day.

There are better alternatives to that. Adding to that, it's actually pretty stupid to debate stuff like that in game forums.

I myself don't give a goblin or two but it's really starting to piss me off to some degree.

Larian wanted the characters to look realistic, so the faces are modelled off of real people, without makeup, and no covering of imperfections such as blemishes. It helps with avoiding the uncanny valley because all people, including supermodels have skin imperfections. They also hired normal people, or people with interesting features, rather than paying exorbitant rates for professional models.

As for the limited amount of faces, much like pretty much everything else in the EA, Larian are reserving the majority for release (I'm pretty sure Sven has said there will be more faces on release)
