Can I buy real estate?
Like stores or housing or brothels because a great RPG needs this in every game.

Larian hasn't said anything about property owning.

I have not heard but I think Yartar has some cheap land now.

Although this is not exactly the game for it either. D&D is all about exploring and always moving, rarely if never settling down and building a real estate empire or whatever you mean. So probably not.

Skyrim?

Assume no, then you wont be disappointed.
Dos1 had none, Dos2 had no, DnD has none therefore it is more likely Elon Musk will buy you the game than it has player housing.

I doubt it. This isn't a Sandbox game.

Comparing Skyrim with Baldur's Gate is like comparing a Shooter with a Visual Novel... People these days.

Don't really think we'll have a house, as sleeping and party interaction is done in your camp whenever you rest.

Camp in BG3 is VERY similar to camp from older games like Dragon Age Origins for example, a separate instance where you can interact with your party members, romance them, do all that kind of stuff.

Also, we'll get Camp-Followers in addition to Party Followers. Camp-Followers won't be in combat with the rest of our party, but they will be at camp and may offer services, or may even have mini storylines of their own, or be potential romance options, who knows.

just get a house

Well if you wanted a house in Divinity, you would only have to kill everyone inside and decorate to your hearts content.

I also assume there won't be one, but let's be honest here:
If you're able to aquire property in DnD or not depends on the DM.

Gamewise: We had property in NWN 2 (DnD-Rule based game), Dragon Age Awakening (losely DnD-Rule based game), Pathfinder Kingmaker (DnD-Rule cousin) and probably many more.

But I still think it's rather unlikely.

Oh you poor souls saying D&D never had property, etc, etc. I must weep for you all, or kill you let me roll my percentage dice.

History lesson for those that claim such foolery *before I stab you all* editions beyond 3.5 are basic, bare bones *most of the bones are missing as well.* 3.5 and it's hundreds of books had rules for everything, had prices for everything as well. It was literally built for massive campaigns the like the editions that came after can only fantasize about. You could own houses, businesses, castles, you name it you could not only own it but build it.

The later editions have been stripped down to make it easier for new, and newer players to get into D&D. Also to make it easier for new DM's to learn the rules (which are just rough guides honestly). Added to this is the type of players that are being attracted to D&D those that are more into killing things, robbing things then actually roleplaying, pushing bounderies, and creating new things in the game. I mean try to find more then a handful of magical items in 5e, hell try to find pricing, and rules to create a magic item in 5e. To save you time dont look through the official WoTC sites, and source books you won't find them.

(sorry for rant but had to correct the mistaken posts) Now on to murder spree!!!!
