Class that has pets?
You know, wondering if there are any classes that can tame pets and use it for your advantage. Or have any pets/companions. Beast taming and such

You get Ranger archetypes at Level 3 per 5E rules, unless I missed something about the devs changing it for BG3.

If you check the Githyanki screenshot on the most recent community update post (which happens to be a Ranger), it shows what you can pick for Favored Enemy and Natural Explorer. One of the choices for Natural Explorer is Beast Taming.

i reckon is the part of the ranger rework how it works is shown in panel from hell video around 50 mark just look for the spider...

The other adaptations i think it's the hp.... As far as i could find familiars should have 1 hp but the one in the video has 6 half less than the owner so don't know whats that about... maybe they can actually tank a hit or two... and not just be a distraction or touch spell conduit if those things are in the game that is. Lots of stuff to test on EA fun times..

Familiars in 5E are supposed to have as much health as the creature the spirit is mimicing. I believe some of the summoning-focussed subclasses have abilities that alter that, but there are definitely no familiars with 1 health.

Also Warlocks get all their tier 1-5 spells back after a short rest. In BG3 there is a short rest automatically after every fight. Eventually they get access to summon spells. While they will wait later to get the summons when they are farting out Demons and Planar Bindings its going to trivialise late game content.

Necromancer?

Even black / shadow magic sorcerers have some kind of companion, it's just a shadow hound that can even chase the enemy through the face.
But it's a bad and good dog at the same time ^^

Thanks all. I think for early access I'll play as a ranger but will go druid during the full release. :)

Ugh i know. The choices are endless. I was thinking necro for the undead but leaned towards more animal like. But undead sounds cool. ><

Well, as for Pets, everyone in D&D RP is able to purchase a pet, or to capture and tame one, as for magical pets, Druid, Ranger and I guess any spellcaster that is able to read a magic scroll, then there is the familiar for Mages of course, or you buy a slave girl and make her your pet.

pretty sure it is a spider in the video that has almost as much hp as the player
in 5e D&D familiars have the hp and skills of the monster the take shape as
