I agree. I found it really charismatic. Like a true devil should be :)
I don't know if I would like the Devil to be someone known in the lore, or a whole new character.
The first solution would be cool, because that mean someone really important is interested in you - which is flattering. But this mean people able to recognize this character can guess ahead of time why he does what he does.
The second solution would allow the writers to have complete freedom about the character.
