all the other stuff makes a game addictive if you can even call it that.... not the dice rolls
Well. like i said must be pain what did you try to roll 99 a 100?? i got 90s all the time...never took more then 5 minits on it... it's still not addictive btw...
if it was, you wouldn't get pass the character creation screen...
Thats why there is DM who comfort you, he can give you better reward next time. I played DD when I was kid, I remember I killed one of my mates when I wanted to be Evil Wizard (Raistlin anyone?) after that we just started to drink ahd have fun etc.
If the game is unrewarding, DM can easily fix that. If you have a streak of bad luck, no problems.
That is just character "optimization" with dices
