Some elves had straight hair too in the trailer, it looks like elves in BG3 will have a variety in type of hair. The type of elves have in other fantasy franchises got nothing to do with BG or D&D, there is also no set standard to the hair of the elves, they are skinnier than humans and have longer pointy ears, that's pretty much it.
I also never liked the elf in DA3, bold elf, ridiculous
Still I love the graphic Engine in general has lots of detail and looks very nice
What? Where in dnd lore does it state that elves can't have curly hair? And, yes, Tolkien was the one who popularized elves in fantasy but that doesn't mean his elves are the only real ones. There's plenty of variations of his tropes and they're all just as real (well as real as a fantasy can be)
I don't think elf with curly hair or bald elf is an issue. Some games have races like Dark elves, with dark skin, in Skyrim elves looked more like goblins or aliens imo. These elves in BG3 are quite well done. Where I would like to see more development with the character models is the facial gesture/mimic physics and the hair physics. It seems the facial expressions are just textures painted on their faces, no actual skin/muscles moving underneath. The hair physics are still almost non-existent, the guy with the ponytail had his hair moving with jerk in the air, the rest of the models seem to have fixed hair without any movement regardless of motion or body posture. Shadowheart's hair still appears with zero movement when she is moving her head, it looks like a hair helmet or maybe she used a ton of hairspray.
Hope their lips are well synced
I am recently playing XCOM Enemy Within and I love the turn based approach. It is same here with BG3. Real time doesn't play well in D&D, I played BG1 recently and I am certain what I am talking about
Let's talk about models and physics instead, trust me, there won't be any good result by starting another TB vs RTwP debate. I mean if you want to keep your thread as clean as possible don't mention combat mechanics.
