Still bad faces for elves with the new trailer
I recently finished BG1 and didn't like it, not moving to BG2. I just can't stand the isometric limitation all the time, gets very tiring to watch, I guess I am used to and spoiled with pretty games like DOS or Mass Effect and so many others, and even NWN2 felt way better and lively to play.

I was not very happy with the D&D mechanics as well, with the overall design of levels and the overall feel of the game.

I have played both BG1 and DOS and I can confidently say that turn-based is the right approach here.

The video looks nice but I still see some bad faces. The faces look too big and out of lore, look very artificial. The fem protagonist looks pretty than the previous trailer though.

This is Larian's first attempt at cinematics approach and I see they are struggling with the engine face creation still, though it looks like slight improvement over the previous trailer

The elf with the white hair doesn't look right to me. Why is his hair curly ? It is very lore unfriendly for an elf. Watch the Hobbit and see how real elves look like, look at Legolas with long hair and beautiful features. I will have to put a helmet on his head because I can't stand the way he looks. And I will never romance him for obvious reasons

Real elves? The ones that hide under rocks? Lotr is not canon in popular mythology.

Some elves had straight hair too in the trailer, it looks like elves in BG3 will have a variety in type of hair. The type of elves have in other fantasy franchises got nothing to do with BG or D&D, there is also no set standard to the hair of the elves, they are skinnier than humans and have longer pointy ears, that's pretty much it.

Not so, lore is very important as beautification, why do you think Geralt of Rivia is so liked by everyone? The whole Witcher 3 npcs are so authentic. I mean we cannot really expect Larian to match the expertise of CDR but still much more effort should be put to make these characters than what I see, although the fem protagonist looks nice, but is some issue with the males.

I also never liked the elf in DA3, bold elf, ridiculous

I think the elves look nice , could be better i guess ? still it is subjective as beauty is in the eyes of the beholder
Still I love the graphic Engine in general has lots of detail and looks very nice

I don't know about beautiful but he look strong and the white of hes white hair is fun
Imagine thinking that elves need to be pretty for a game to be successful, in a world where Skyrim and Oblivion are top sellers games...

What? Where in dnd lore does it state that elves can't have curly hair? And, yes, Tolkien was the one who popularized elves in fantasy but that doesn't mean his elves are the only real ones. There's plenty of variations of his tropes and they're all just as real (well as real as a fantasy can be)

I don't think elf with curly hair or bald elf is an issue. Some games have races like Dark elves, with dark skin, in Skyrim elves looked more like goblins or aliens imo. These elves in BG3 are quite well done. Where I would like to see more development with the character models is the facial gesture/mimic physics and the hair physics. It seems the facial expressions are just textures painted on their faces, no actual skin/muscles moving underneath. The hair physics are still almost non-existent, the guy with the ponytail had his hair moving with jerk in the air, the rest of the models seem to have fixed hair without any movement regardless of motion or body posture. Shadowheart's hair still appears with zero movement when she is moving her head, it looks like a hair helmet or maybe she used a ton of hairspray.

Hope their lips are well synced

I am recently playing XCOM Enemy Within and I love the turn based approach. It is same here with BG3. Real time doesn't play well in D&D, I played BG1 recently and I am certain what I am talking about

Let's talk about models and physics instead, trust me, there won't be any good result by starting another TB vs RTwP debate. I mean if you want to keep your thread as clean as possible don't mention combat mechanics.

Wasteland 3 looks very much like XCOM too, like striking similarity

I'm not sure why Peter Jackson's take on elves is what you believe is lore friendly.
