I kind of want Aerie to come back
Remember that winged elf who was just a regular avariel until she had some horrible stuff inflicted upon her and was left battling PTSD which she spent the whole of gorions wards story battling against? It would be great to see her fully grown and kicking ass in BG3.

Same here, or at least feature a companion on BG3 that reminds us of her. (aka) The personality, voice, looks, theme song, banters, etc. <3

But in today's society, I know it's a sin for showing ladies like Aerie in Western Rpgs. So if they do bring her back, she has to be grown & kicking.@ss like you said, but without those BG2 traits that made her so memorable.

I won't even blame Larian if they make her unrecognizable. She's everything Western feminists have fought to never be portrayed as again. So they'd probably make her a tomboy, no girly voice or hair, and has all the masculine traits of Sera or Cassandra from DAI. Actually that sounds pretty nice, part of me doesn't mind it if they explain it well story-wise. ^_^ www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntC7dxsuhyo

♥♥♥♥ character arcs and progress, am I right?

I really don't like this topic of conversation, so I'll just leave it at this: Feminism if given the choice of a masculine or a feminine aerie would say they want neither and wash their hand of the whole thing. Better words for Aerie in BG2 would be "child-like" and "damaged". Note that neither description has anything to do with gender. Hasn't got a lot to do with age either, Jaheira was officially not much older than gorions ward, and minsc was probably 10 years older, but everyone knows which of the pair were more child-like. The point of Aerie in BG3 would be for neither of those two words to be suitable descriptions of her. Aerie is too intelligent, too resilient and too experienced by the time BG3 will occur for her to not have moved past the vulnerability and immaturity of her youth. She isn't brain damaged like minsc, or devoted to a cause by a cult of druids who had raised her from infancy like Jaheria

The thing with Aerie, and every other NPC from BG2 - except Minsc because it isn't the original Minsc, they'd be supremely powerful beings helping Gorion's Ward reach the Throne of Bhaal. If any of them do return, they should be subjected to quest giving NPCs at the most.

Aerie's child on the other hand... that's an blank slate just waiting to be filled.

Cant really do that, unless they did it in such a way that they never imply who she ended up with.

What if she has a life outside of Gorions ward though, can they do it then? Am I forgetting something in the game saying that they ended up married or living together?

Except she has a kid with Gorions Ward, a Kid who might still be alive. She also might have ended up with Haer'Dalis. It would be awkward to include her in any meaningful way with out addressing any of these relationships. Like sure she could have a camio I guess buy I doubt any one would recognize her at a glance, and I dont know what she would even be doing in a scene to give herself away.

It would be funny aerie showing up and it looks like it is her time to shine, only for viconia or neera to steal the spotlight from her and she would cry realizing that those other party members have more drive than her and then gorian's ward as a mortal would show up and in a dramatic way say 'shut up aerie' or point out she was whining again.

Honestly though the only companion I would want less than her would be anomen.

# FEMINISM (aka) political things will rarely get out of your Western video games. It's here to stay, so as much as I can respect your old way of society. It is dead and gone, and Larian Studios will one day bow to Feminism like all the others. Because everyone & their mothers agree women need to be taken more seriously & respected, and not treated like your Aerie types. This is one reason why the trope is 99% GONE.

And after seeing what BG3 has done so far, it's hitting all the spots that make a perfect game for feminists too. Larian doesn't seem to be following their agenda of prior Divinity games, where women are clearly portrayed how feminists don't 100% prefer.

Now don't get me wrong, if I was in Japan right now where most feminists there like their cute Aerie types then by all means, add them to their ♥♥♥ games. The point is to respect what most society of women want & listen to their concerns. Stop trying to make it a BOYS only club, and be considerate how many girls & women can be affected by your "fantasy" products.

There has to be new guidelines if girls are playing depending on the society we're in, or else prepare for war since they aren't going to put up with your "fantasy" excuse anymore. Therefore POLITICS will have to exists in games, how else can they make sure that a female at worst is portrayed decently, and at best perfectly. ^_^

Oh come on, that doesn't rile me up at all? Now if it was officially announced by WOC & Larian if that Aerie had a baby with a hamster, then yes I'm sure even male feminists would find that unacceptable & not want a woman in BG portrayed in that way.

But sure unofficially you can do whatever you want, and that doesn't bother me. Go ahead and show hamster babies from Aerie, everyone is free to do what they want until it's something major that can influence a younger generation of genders.
Da ♥♥♥♥ did I just read? Are you being sarcastic? I cant tell what your point is at all except maybe you are being a parody, even then I cant tell if you are parodying feminists or anti-feminists.

This is a gaming forum and forum about BG. Politics has no place here as some people would like.

If they're Unofficial products, then I'm down for anything. If I had it my way, I'd make D&D games a furry-fest if I had the power. My imaginations are endless, where the chaos would reign & BG fanboys would cry that I destroyed their sacred image of "Aerie." "Minsc" "Edwin" "Viconia", etc.

But I respect people's "official" series, so don't get it twisted I've always been open to 99% of things, yet officially doing that is cruel & wrong. If someone invaded my precious series that I've built, and added rainbows & unicorns everywhere, etc I'd be furious.

So it's about respecting the base games of a series if that makes sense. Sorry for all the rambling, it's time for me to go now. Take care, and it was good to talking with you again Mr. Hamster Guy. <3 www.youtube.com/watch?v=33izVlIOgnQ

So long as you are the DM, you do have the power. You just have to convince enough players to join your game.
