No Bodies disappearing PLEASE!
I HATE it when bodies in games disappear! ruin the immersion
I wish the bodies of dead enemies remain.
It would be even better if the bodies rot and turn into bones as time passes (similar to Red Dead Redemption 2)
Destructible objects/environments disappearing also bother me :steamsad:

I also hate it when you cant remove miniature giant space hamsters from the items. Breaks my immersion every time when it just goes squeak. Let Boo out to play:partyboo:

despawning was not something that happen in the DOS I or DOS II, so likely in luck for that, as of the rest likely out of luck for that

The reason they disappear in games is because as the bodies and destroyed objects pile up it will start to tank performance. Especially destructible objects. You have one object suddenly turning into 10+ objects that the game has to process. They need to be cleaned up in some way so the game runs right.
that might also be why Boo cant come out to play. I could just see him now eating all the code:hamster:

Despawning absolutely does happen in DOS2.

Ever messed around in Skyrim and spawned thousands of cheese wheels?

Yeah...

Also, bodies should attract crows. And we should have option to kill them silently with throwing daggers, like Jagged Alliance 2

Despawning didn't happen to me at all during my 2 playthroughs. :/

Yeah, no kidding. Literally every single time I travel past an old battlefield, the bodies are still there.
Maybe the game will automatically despawn bodies. But instead of being based on a timer, it's based on whether the game thinks your computer can handle it?

Or maybe its a setting?

I certainly wouldn't appreciate it if there was a massive battle, then every time I passed through the area the game would lag massively just because it insisted on keeping all the "immersive" dead bodies on the ground.

There are some games out there that have a corpse limit as a setting actually. I feel like all PC games need to give you access to many more settings than they already do. Could open up some more potential customers who have lower end PCs.
The best part is when games force graphic settings that just make the game look like total ass

^-- Gothic 2021 Demo. The only way to fix this is to turn the single slider for graphics settings down to very low.

They did that in Stoneshard and its epic how they flyway when you get close...IF a small indie company can do it... But it's all about a vision of the game...

Stoneshard cheats alot, it works for them as the dont save anything, exit the game and reload and everything resets on the map

Don't actual serial killers like to return to where they hid bodies and admire their work time after time?

Is this an actual serial killer desiring to return and check up on his virtual works?

FBI? Yes, this is the thread right here.
