Larian may screw up BG3
All of Larian's games' stories are full of comedy and humor. They don't have what it takes to make serious stories like BG1 and 2. If they turn BG3 into a comedy and humor game like DOS1 then its going to be a colossal disaster. They will get a lot of hate for that. I think Larian may screw it up.

This is especially ironic, given what they achieved with Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2.

What ironical? PoE 1 was great. PoE 2 was just masterpiece.
Indeed.
PoE 1 was an average game with tons of design flaws.
The sequel improved in several areas but screwed up few others.
The first in particular had some extremely flat encounter design.
The second completely failed to offer any challenge (if you are someone who cares).

Both games also shared an incredibly dull and unimaginative setting and didn't exactly shine in term of writing.
Most companions were heavily criticized for being boring and unlikable, too.

Everyone seems to complain about Larian’s ability to write a dark game, forgetting that DoS2 while light hearted at moments was for the most part a dark game, BG1 and 2 had its fair share of humor as well, for goodness sake, one of the best armors in the game was crafted from pantaloons.

BG2's humor worked so well because there was a contrast with the otherwise dark and serious narrative. The funny moments often came completely unexpected which made them hilarious. It was also often clever and well written (the philosopher exchange in Trademeet is my favourite lol) My problem with DOS2 was that there was simply so much of it that it pretty much became the norm...you expected the characters to make funny remarks all the time and that toom away the novelty of it. I agree though that the tone gets somewhat more serious later in the game. The beginning almost made me put the game away.

I think you're getting your games mixed up.

DOS2 didn't have many funny remarks from the characters, DOS did though. Which is something I miss while playing DOS2.
One word. Minsc. One of the biggest/most popular characters from the series was just a stupid commedy gimmick.

One character being a comedy Vs the entire story being a comedy is a big difference. DOS1's entire story is pure comedy and after completing the first chapter I couldn't take it anymore so I uninstalled it.

Sucks to be you then. Because you're missing out, all because you're too stuck up to enjoy a game.
The trailer is pretty disturbing and dark, and this is the reason why they released the trailer this early, to kill the rumors preemptively. Swen Vincke said the game is going to be darker in tone and more serious then DOS series. Having a few comic relieves is not going to ruin the game.

Poe2 was so bad that I finally uninstalled it. Couldn't stand the characters, the writing, the shallow plot, the silly everything is pirates. The whole game is your on ship and there are little Islands. Not my kind of RPG.

NOW Pathfinder King Maker is KING!

Or, and hear me out...PEOPLE LIKE DIFFERENT THINGS! Just some food for thought. I for one don't like Larian's cheesy humor either, but I'm more concerned with them injecting their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ leftist SJW politics into the game.

Man, I'm the total opposite. PoE2 is my favorite CRPG yet, and Kingmaker is this troubled game I'm trying to like in spite of itself. If Kingmaker used a more modern ruleset than Pathfinder (which I realize it couldn't) and had put more thought into the kingdom management side of the game, I'd have loved it. As it is, I just can't stick with it for very long. : \

Or, hear me out, QQ. QQ again. And QQ more.

And SJW politics? LOL! They had a big middle finger to all of the "SJWs" from DOS.

But then again, you must be pure right wing, and only care about guns. And you're probably racist and a homophobe.

A big middle finger? Yeah, that's why they went to the trouble of changing the cover art for DOS when SJWs complained that the girl was too hot.
