Go into your steam library and right click Garfield Kart and then go to:
Manage>Browse local files>Garfield Kart Furious Racing_Data>StreamingAssets>Windows and then remove the 'aiconfig' file from the directory (don't delete it in case you want to put it back later.)
This will b r e a k the ai, but only in spirit. Their hollow bodies will still be in the usual spot at the beginning of each race, but they won't ever be able to move from that spot. This is why I called it a "kind of" solution, since it doesn't get rid of the ai, but simply makes them unable to do anything. Assuming you or anyone who sees this still cares, if you're ok with having to weave through a few soulless bodies each time you reach the finish line then this will likely work just fine for you. Also, ***only the host needs to do this for it to work***
p.s. I haven't tested it, but I imagine this can be used in order to cheese every unlock in the whole game since you won't need to compete with the seemingly cheating ai, so if you wanna do that and become a dirty cheater yourself then be my guest
I don't see much of a difference other than less excitement and making it easier for the 1st place racer to win the race because there is less in their way! The exception is if human players are actually filling up every single spot by default, so then the game won't feel empty. With that said, one good reason I could see to breaking the A.I. is if you only want the game to be influenced by human players and to maybe 1 v 1 another racer (friends only/no A.I.)
However, in online races, this could get boring when there are no other racers around adding to the excitement of the race, which means a single racer will get attacked less by power-ups. Also, more and more players tend to leave races, which adds to it being even more empty. The A.I. is not entirely fair, but they're nowhere near impossible to beat either, and there are times where they drive into walls or off the track. I don't even think I ever see the A.I. taking ALL shortcuts.
As for anyone breaking the A.I. for their own enjoyment, it's their experience, so I have no issues with that, but if it has any impact on online public lobbies I join, the races tend to die quicker. Once me or another racer gets 1st place on maybe the first 2 tracks of a cup, more than half the racers leave the game and the broken A.I. stay broken until I leave to join a game where they are not affected at all. lol Although, if a group can agree to race with disabled A.I., then I don't view that as a problem.
