Report a translation problem
Something must be up with your PC's or something, and it's hard to find out why especially when other more graphically intense games run smoother for you guys.
Problem probably lies somewhere in the game's code, though I'm not a developer.
Not disregarding any potential performance problem, but Left 4 dead 2 was released 11 years ago, borderlands 8, the specs for those game are by todays standards extremely low and being able to play these games isn't a guarantee that garfield kart FR will run smoothly on a pc. i don't know about overcooked because i've barely played it but i wouldnt find it surprising if it was less resource consuming than GKFR.
If this is indeed a specs issue, your friend may ask steam for a refund, if the conditions are met, she will be refunded.

As I said it's not frame drops, it never goes below sixty but it starts running slower the later into the race.
[EDIT] Noticed that frametimes are kinda screwed when camera moves fast
