After the first sandstorm.... the game gives a tutorial about sand accumulating on machines and how it visually changes so you see when it gets covered with sand. In my case i have never seen any visual change.... however, suddenly some machines start to show up as slowed down by sand and needing duster. Sometimes this happened with NEW machines just built minutes ago

Furthermore, even after dusting, the prompt doesnt go away and the times remain as if slowed down.... only workaround i found was to pick up the machine and put it back down elsewhere.... after that the timer goes back to normal and the prompt for dusting is gone.

There's a tiny pile of sand that spawns underneath the machines. Issue is, thanks to the designs of some machines you can't see or target the sand as the machines cover it completely.
