Stuck at Look for engine in "Sandrock Strikes Back"

I defeated all of the enemies in big room where you get Howlett's pistol, used the keycard and moved on to battle Penn. Then, I died, and it brought me back to the big room. Only this time, when I use the keycard, the door I need to go through to get to Penn doesn't open. Help?
