If you in the future want to pass the game in the accelerated pace, then you can buy and Monster Whisperer, and clothes for the master, and furniture for the house. Builder's clothes and furniture have characteristics, not just cosmetics, and animals give positive effects to the builder. This game has a high replayability rate. Take your time, enjoy it)
In multiplayer vispere does not work yet.
Edit to add: The pet limit is up to 8 domesticated pets plus up to 50 captured monsters.
Anyway, I'm another who doesn't recommend having a pet zoo doing stuff for you for a first playthrough. With that said, I truly enjoy what the Monster Whisperer DLC and in-game pets as a whole add to the Sandrock experience. I definitely recommend it for subsequent playthroughs.
Don't think I ever met a monster I got "face rolled" by.
But ya getting resources is one major part of the game and making it too easy with DLC does remove a big chunk of that resource desperation
That is the one that got me on my first run. Low level, quietly exploring the lovely desert, avoiding the tripions and boxing jacks then....BAM, taken out by a bird in a wig. Embarrassing, really.
Now if I die it's to the dreaded "parkour" monster, typically in one particular section of the Mole Cave.
