Having Grace enter the scene here is correct. If you defeat Logan it will play out very differently than you describe. You have to defeat Logan to convince him you're "the right man for a job"
My computer is just a basic laptop, not one built for gaming but it runs other games well. Portia wasn't as combat or asset heavy so I thought Sandrock would be ok, and for the most part it is.
