I remember Pablo as having a bit more of a flamboyant voice that was softer than it is now. It was almost catty in some of the stuff he said
It's possible it's the same actor (you'd have to check the credits) but because the time between major chapter updates was so long, the actor changed the way he voice acted, or changed his equipment. Most of these indie game VAs record at home on their own setup or rent a studio for 2 hrs and just send the files over to China. It's also possible, and I'm going on a real stretch here, that they had to tone down the flamboyant behaviour/script because 4 years ago there was a major crackdown on games in China and every game had to be approved and sent for review by the media board and it delayed MTaS by A LOT. I wouldn't be surprised if they edited the character profile (write up they send to the VAs) just to get past the approval quicker. (I don't need to tell you but let's just say their men need to be manly there, and 'immoral' behaviour isn't really allowed there.)
Its so funny, because I last played the game before it hit 1.0 and was in later Act 2 before I got sidetracked from it, and I thought Pablo was the same flamboyant self he was earlier in a playthrough. Its possible I just wasn't listening correctly or rushed his dialogue without realising his voice changed back then. I will miss old Pablo. His snarkyness was awesome. This new flirt with my character right away vibe threw me right off. It is what it is.
I think it does come down to recording sessions spaced fairly widely apart and either the actor changed the style or the voice direction did.
