Plant mountain rose

I have seen on here they need 4 soil spaces, How do I expand it to that many. I have the basic planting kit and don't have a clue how to up grade it. Need help with this thanks.

A better planting kit is unlocked as part of the main story. However, you don't need it to plant crops that take multiple squares. Just make a correctly-sized area with the straw, one square at a time. When you are ready to water or fertilize, selecting a single square puts water or fertilizer on the whole plant.

Not sure if this can be done with the basic planting kit but on a keyboard (if you are a PC user) you can use TAB to make the squares bigger or smaller ... so go from one square to nine ..

Yeah, that unlocks later on with the advance kit. Its definately something to look forward too just for being able to harvest whole areas at a time. Replanting is also easier as long as you stay within the borders of your current allotment (Otherwise you may lay straw on new ground).
