The townsfolk tell you how to do things. First prepare the land with straw. Plant a seed. Add water and fertilizer. What they don't tell you is that rose willow seed is super good for leveling up your farmland. It's a great first crop that builds up a healthy wood stockpile.
Is higher level farmland actually good? Uh, um, well, I dunno. It lets land hold more fertilizer, but if farming is anything like portia, maintaining a "happy" level of fertilizer is all that matters.
Farm tiles can be freely moved around using the house planner at the construction junction. Once the land is deleted, it's gone. Only max level biocrust can be packed up and reused.
