Can you change the player's name or will it always be Max/Lucy?

Only if you keep it that way at character creation. Once you've created your character and loaded in, you can't change your name from there, unfortunately, so if you want your character's name to be different, make sure to change it at the character creation screen first, before launching into the game. You can change it when you click the button to the left of the magnifying glass, at the top of the screen, the one that has the 'male' 'female' symbol on it; it's where you can choose your character's gender, but also where you can change your character's name.

but honestly doesn't matter because all the VA just says Builder.

Sandrock people are so rude, here you are saving their entire town and they can't be bothered to learn your name.

Sad but true. And that's true for a lot of games. I'm sure this is partly due to the fact that some of them have voices and can't voice every single name, but still. I'm doing all the work, I should be treated like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ king.

Changing the main character's name shouldn't be any harder than changing the workshop name. There are probably already mods that can do it, such as Full Character Edit[www.nexusmods.com] at nexus.

I named my character 'Builder' once because that's what everyone called her anyway.
