Museum items and sparkling pets?
I’m sure I have missed this someplace but I don’t know where they put if you already have an item displayed in museum. Also what is the significance of the sparkles?

The sparkles are pets to capture if you have the DLC I believe.

In the museum, if open a display and look at the screen above the area where the items you can donate typically appear there are some tabs. Click on those, the items you have donated but are not on display are located there and that's how you can change the display.

Or are you asking how you can tell if it's already on display, your wording is ambiguous. If this is your question, then look on the item information. Down at the bottom it will give you some information, such as how many of that item you have, what size display it fits in in the museum and, IF you have already donated it that is where that information will appear, I forget the exact wording but it will be along the lines of 'this item is in the museum' or something really obvious.

Sparkles around a monster indicate it's particularly special when captured. It will have an additional passive perk available when captured. These perks help with gathering herbs/chopping wood/mining/salvaging scrap/sandfishing/collecting trash when the pet is set to follow you. Their models are also bigger. I have a comparison screenshot of a sparkly and non-sparkly rockyenaroll available to the public if you wish to see an example.

I was coming back from the Lab 7 area past the Portia tunnel and ran into like 6 of those sparklers at dusk, they strung along from the new area, into the snakes and across the area on the workshop side of the rail clear out to the salvage yard. It was super pretty. I do not have the DLC, lol.

Thanks all. I do have the DLC and didn’t know what was special between no sparkles and sparkles.
