House "upgrades" driving me INSANE

I have added three rooms. All are attached to original house externally, and even got a letter saying "some things had to be moved to storage"...but NOTHING is attached inside! I can't access the new spaces at all, there are no interior doors or hallways. When I look at the interior view in the interface, it seems to be open.

Why is this interface so horrible?! I have spent four in-game days trying to fix this and I am ready to give up on this game. 😩

This is something many experienced and hope they fix soon. I in time go inside and there is not door to enter my room lol.

It's just so dumb. It's maddening how much they are scamming people with all the known issues with the entire My Time series and not fixing things. At least I know not to buy anything else they release now. 😂

This is a bit old but you have to buy a door and place it on the wall between two rooms. It doesn't automatically give you a door when you place a room from the outside.

When I built the whole house in a go for the first time, it added doorways for me. I'm not sure what the trigger is for that, but subsequently when I wanted to expand my house by adding extra rooms from the outside, it never made doorways for me. I had to go inside my house, guess which wall was which, and place a doorway myself, which might be the issue OP is having. It's finicky.

You can manually add doors through the house editor
You have to buy it from Construction junction go into the house and activate it

Your building are not close enough. When adding buildings, you need to make sure your added building tab is as close to the other buildings tab and expand from there. I had the same problem in the beginning but I am not having it any longer. So try again. I am not having any problems. Also, no need to add doorways to building you want to connect. They have openings. Though outside doors are needed if you want to access a room from the outside.

Now the stupid staircases? I cannot yet help with. Removing items inside is a nightmare right now. I prefer to create hallways for staircases so keep that in mind that when building up you need to figure out how you are going to situate staircases. They take up a lot of room.

They are touching. Whenever I move them any closer, they overlap and turn red (i e. Cannot place)

I have to say, upgrading the house is one of the most confusing things in this game, which is why I barely did so and still have only one room, although a way larger one. Looks like ♥♥♥♥ to try to create different "rooms" with cupboards and stuff, but I just didn`t have the nerv to watch some youtube video explain it to me how to do it properly.

Strange. Sad that didn't work for you. Adding doors doesn't help. When joined they auto create a doorway you can change if you want.

Why can I not place children's furniture? I haven't gotten that far in the game yet , having children but getting closer and i wanted the rooms ready.

What system are you using? I only play this game on laptop with xbox controller but I could help with basic stuff. At least outdoor editing is greatly improved if not a headache. I was able to move light fixtures and windows now easily enough. Before? I had to leave things misplaced because I got tired of messing with it.

I haven't tried to use my mouse yet to remove those stairs. It won't let me change the type like before either. I had to use my keyboard to edit I think? It isn't easy but when you have things situated it does look nice.

I wish I could just hack and destroy these staircases. We do not have complete kitchen items and so far, cannot change their colors. No stove and I cannot put cooking stove inside either. Why put in a oven vent but no oven? I don't care if it works just odd choices.

Moving the bed direction too. Such a headache. I like the characters and the story isn't too bad.

You should post what system you are using. I'm using comp with xbox controller. Which recently won't allow me to put items into inventory. either Not my controller because it worked fine during the Dance Off.

I'm only having problems on the inside getting the destroy edit line to pop up. Works okay on the outside.

Those stupid staircases. I didn't use to have this problem. It was a problem but eventually it would work. I lost a lot of my original house during an upgrade and a lot of gols. I stopped playing for quite a while. Earlier upgrades were a mess. Plus this game requires certain actions that if you do not work them out in time? It messes up the game.

Good luck with your home. Hopefully someone will answer these questions soon. All of these updates and bugs. I do pity the programmers.

Thank you for fixing my delete button. I can once more delete stairs by pressing X with xbox controller when first opening House tab.

I'm using PC with Xbox controller. I stopped playing though until they do some updates. 😆

Decided to join in on this discussion cause something is happening in my house every time i restart the game - so this is after doing hours and having made changes without having consequences. Every time i restart the game a day or so later the house changes -door ways are gone or they move. It's always the doors changing size or totally missing. I've tried to add on pieces but things do not add on easily or snap correctly now - when i hadnt had problems before this.
