Pets DLC Question

in the trailer they showed the fox, and merecat, does this mean if you buy the monster dlc that they become available? what pets are available with the dlc? or only monsters that are in the world already?

The fennec fox remains Kickstarter exclusive. The gecko is available if you have the Pet Pack: Lil Gecko DLC. The meerkat is available in the base game after a quest. In addition to the meerkat, you still have access to the other adoptable pets that have always been available: Nemo, Macchiato, Banjo, and CoCo. With the v1.3 game update, you also have X available for tasks and combat if your builder marries Fang. The Monster Whisperer DLC allows access to capturing and befriending wild ones that were already in the world.
