"N" (New) Icons in Inventory are Very Annoying...Any Way to Stop it?
Whenever I get a previously unknown item, its corresponding entry in the encyclopedia gets added, be it a weapon or piece of armor, crafting material, or even finding a new species of monster or whatever. This is fine, since, if I go to the entry once, the little "N" notification dot goes away.

However, that is not the case for my actual inventory! Because my inventory is finite, I've gradually been buying additional slots to store more things on-hand, but I also craft plenty of Wooden Storages to store even more stuff that I wanna keep, but don't necessarily wanna sell or abandon completely (such as Relic parts). So, let's say I obtain some wood. It goes into my inventory, and the little "N" (presumably for "New") notification dot icon pops up. I have to navigate to it in my inventory for the annoying notification dot icon to go away.

Now, let's say I take my wood and store it in one of my Wooden Storages. And let's say I go get some more wood the next day. Even though I'm very familiar with wood, as I get a lot from it via chopping deadwood trees and my Recycler - soon as it goes into my inventory again, the little "N" notification dot icon shows up again!

This happens with every item, every single time I get a "new" one (or, rather, a new instance of one). I personally find this quite annoying, and feel like I spend half my time on the inventory screen, just to get rid of those stupid notification dot icons. I like how the encyclopedia does it - it lets me know once, and then it's done. The information is always there, should I ever need it in the future.

Does this only happen to me? Does anyone else find this annoying? Is there an option or some sort of setting for it I missed or something? I don't recall Portia having anything similar occur - if I got a new recipe, like for my Worktable or something, it had a little "!" icon the one time, and then was gone, unless said item was a component for the Assembly Station.

We all get that, of course, since the game works the same for everyone. The difference is whether we get annoyed by it. I find it useful, rather than annoying, since it makes it easier to find things that I've recently gathered, especially while mining.

Even if it's things you've already obtained a hundred times...?

You can get rid of it via modding, if you really want (usual caveats and warnings apply). You need both "Your Time at Sandrock" and "Ytas - Tweaks" mods. You will then have an option "Remove the new markings of items" in the mod configuration menu.

Eh, I'll just live with it. I don't trust mods, sorry. Hopefully Pathea can fix it sometime...
