Prisoner dilemma

Unable to do anything with two of the items, Music sheet and list of town folk. I can pick them up look them over and put down but nothing happens. Any thoughts and/or hints?
Sleeping didn't help.

Just run your cursor back and forth over them until a magnifying glass pops up. Worked for me.

I just spam clicked all over when I couldn't find some of the clues. The one I struggled with most was the list of townspeople; there's a second sheet that only appeared when I investigated the left side of the paper stack. For the music sheet, you might need to click the music itself twice since I remember the notes and the lyrics both being relevant clues.

Just keep looking. If the game indicates that you haven't found everything, then you haven't found everything. It's even more annoying then some of those inspection items, since you can't just skip it.
