Is this a complete game?
So I hear that there are a few kickstarter exclusive dlc packs like the weapon back the the cactus spear and a unique pet and outfit. Can any of you guys confirm if they are available for this game or is this content permanently locked away?

There isn't any gameplay features or functions I know that are exclusive to bakcers or otherwise unavailable. I am about 95% certain it's only cosmetics that are exclusive. I would consider that a complete game, as no meaningful content was 'removed' and otherwise sectioned off behind a paywall.
Kickstarter bonus items are not available to the general public. You must have been a Kickstarter backer to receive them.

But note the items are not essential to the game, they are simply bonus items mostly of a cosmetic nature. The game you get from buying it is complete.

That is a shame. I know that its mostly cosmetic, I just hate when game companies divide content among fans.
I personally just found out about this game and since I am a collector at heart I prefer to have a chance to "catch them all". Knowing that certain content ,even cosmetic is permanently locked means I will stay away from this one.
Thank you for the reply!

It's not dividing content among fans. It's about a game having to raise money to actually get made so some kickstarters that backed specific tiers got a reward.

So if it wasn't for that kickstarter campaign the game wouldn't have been made. And giving those items away to non-backers would be a breach of contract.

A few kickstarter backers paid 200 dollars for the game, they got a special outfit for that expense, those that paid 80 dollars got a special pet. That is as advetised and getting what you paid for is completely fair.

The "fishlander" weapon is a club that looks like a fish. The cactus spear looks like a spear with a bit of cactus tied to it. They're just gimmicks and completely irrelevant.

Oh I know how Kickstarter works, thanks for the details though. Please don’t assume that I am attacking Kickstarter campaigns for indie products. This explanation however still changes nothing. Even if you don’t like my figure of speech “dividing content” the game on steam is still not the complete version.
I noticed you don’t care much for skins or in game cosmetics, but I do care quite a bit. So the fact remains you can’t unlock/buy everything in game which is not for me.

Totally get where you're coming from. I had similar experience with Dragon age Origins back in the day. So many bonus items that were good for builds but were locked behind buy orders from different sellers.

But at least they decided to give them all away as a download many years later. I seriously think locking some one out of content permanently is not a good thing. Sure the people that got to enjoy the kickstarter bonuses had their fill.. played the game and moved on.... what then? Future players see these things and then find out... you can never have them.

So, why don't you contact the Devs and offer them $200 for the kickstarter exclusives. Same as the others paid. Sounds fair to me. They might go for it. Are you willing to pay that much?

FYI, there are mods out there that can unlock the kickstarter content for everyone. Now, I know that many, many people will say this is a bad thing as people paid a lot for this content, and I understand that... - but they do exist.

You need the base YTAS framework, but after that you can literally just spawn in the kickstarter outfits and pet into your save.

Complete, but downgraded. It's not really access or anything, but they did downgrade the lighting engine to make the game work on more hardware right before launching the switch port.

In truth the game is not finished. Their latest dev post indicates they will be adding content after launch for the late game which means they are not finished yet despite the fact they took the game out of EA.

They downgraded the graphics on PC as well so they could release on Switch. If anything buy it off G. 2. A. or another key website so they get nothing/less than a Steam purchase. Your money would be better served going to some rat in their basement selling game keys than this shady company if I am being real with you.

A lot of "us" kickstarter backers asked them "Why?" when it came to the kickstarter in the first place. Unsure where you were during this?

Wouldn't that make every game with a kickstarter 'not for you'? Or games with platform exclusive content? Or store exclusive content?

That's not going to leave very many games 'for you'.

The developers have now destroyed the graphics of the game, because they don't want the PC version to look better than the Switch version, so you're better off staying the hell away anyways.
They've admitted to it in their dev blog. They merged the render pipelines to "make the game consistent on all platforms". So now all character models looks like potato plastic dolls on PC without any shading, when they used to look great. They have no plans of reversing this, only the lie about lighting have a bug, which isn't even the main problem anyways.
It's basically false advertising and a scam now.
