Now my thoughts are: steering is still pretty bad. You should not be able to be turned around and if it can't be avoided, there needs to be a safety net that turns your sled to face the right away again. The NPCs still move faster then you but not as much as before.
not sure if the above is my imagination or not but sandsledding is no longer as difficult to win as it used to be. But the 180 degree spin is still BS since you get stuck going the wrong way for up to 20 seconds esp if there is no rocks to use for spinning back.
It seemed like the more I played, the more rocks would be on the track. I feel like they didn't improve steering at all. I thought I had it figured out by tapping keys instead of holding, but that only seemed to work half the time. It literally makes zero sense as there seems to be no real strategy to making it work.
I feel like the only thing they changed is being able to boost (sometimes twice) to get unstuck from a rock, where as before it was a run ending thing. And yes, before the patch I got turned around a few times, going the wrong way. The rocks and getting stuck easily can add almost another minute to your time when the spawn is ALL rocks. Not a good way to impress a date.
I feel like they really need to work on steering or remove 99% of the rock spawns.
