This might not be popular... but is there a chance the devs can make the Logan romance dialogue less mentally and physically, painfully cringy? I managed to force myself to click the first two options when they showed up.... but the third? I almost just said forget it if not for my spouse coming over and hitting the option while I was compressing myself into a blackhole from the sheer amount of fangirly-ness coming from the romance dialogue option.

All the other bachelors' and bachelorettes' dialogue was fine and even cute. But Logan's. I cried from how much it made me hurt clicking them.

I love his character. Why must my character act like a brainless idiot when she's flirting?

Totally agree! I literally went into my bedroom and hide for 2 hours to sort my emotions out. When Logan arrives to sandrock for good, I get all flustered, dunno why, geez!

I mean, they did to begin with. People whined and cried to have him added. And the devs caved and added him. If people now complain he sucks, they'll probably just change him again.

I love his dialog, I hate our dialog that triggers it ("i could almost feel your heart beat", wtf is that? You can technically 'ALMOST' feel anyone's heart beat.) Honestly, I've been chalking the cringey-ness of it up to translation issues, much like it seems the Chinese version of Fang's dialog is a lot more Oedipal than the English translation.

Yea hard agree. To tell him ''it was love at first sight'' when you just met really made me cringe & hesitate if I actually do want to romance the yakboy. & after that the dialogue options just won't get any better. Like heck, one of them is to faint when he says something cute to you.

It's not great that our builder looks like a literal little child next to Logan, but having these over the top painfully cringe & childish dialogue options just give me the icks

Exactly... it feels almost like our characters are harassing him with how pushy the dialogue options are.

Ngl, I bought the game and let it sit until it was out of early access so I only just started playing since I had the time to do so now that it's fully released. So I was not aware of the fact that this was a fan-forced (coerced?) option. It just feels really... I'm not sure what the right words are... jarring? out of place? salty (from the devs pov)? Just doesn't give me the happy, warm fuzzies the way the other romance dialogues do.

I'm not a fan of some pre-romance options as they're way too pushy for my taste but I understand why they're like this. Logan's romance is not for our builders, it's for us players, those of us with fangirly tendencies towards Logan. It's almost an in-joke to tell him that it's love at the first sight. I've been in the community ever since the demo came out so I see all of this as a nod to the fandom rather than Pathea doing cringe and thinking it's romantic. No, back then everyone was like "give us sexy bandit, no matter if he's a terrorist" so now the devs make lighthearted fun of us. And this I can accept. This is also why Lumi is pretty much our fandom personified ratified

I think a few of the romances are lame.

Like Cattori - you basically need to not be a normal person and instead act like a simp at every opportunity, its really rather embarrassing. Like saying only her happiness matters and calling her your girlfriend before she even shows interest in you.

Without any strong character development, romancing Burgess just seems a bit like romancing someone with the mental faculties of a child which is a bit offputting IMO.

And on the opposite spectrum, Miguel could pass for being 3 times older than the builder. Really sure that relationship would end well...

These are just off the top of my head but yeah for Logan, the romance is basically fan service in response to thirsty fans. I guess the writers figured just copying and pasting what those fans were typing is what they wanted.

I did not choose the love at first sight option on either of my play throughs. In fact, you can skip all the romance options with him until Cornered Beasts and still get his reverse confession after (which I did first play through because I was playing a split save to see both his and Fang's romance quests and went Fang first), you just have to pick all 4 romance choices during Cornered Beasts no matter what.

However, during my second play through when we had the interview with Ernest and I knew I was going full Logan, I did choose the "he pushed potential lovers away" choice and then said it was me in the follow up and I LOVED his response. He responds like you chose the love at first sight thing in the cave even if you didn't (I didn't, cause, ew) and the response tickled me - especially because he makes it clear that the relationship has changed since then.

Personally, I think the devs are totally mocking us with our choices, but they also love Logan so his responses are pure romance gold. I don't care, I'm totally lukewarm on all the other romance choices (of both genders) so if there was no Logan I'd probably be dissatisfied with that aspect.

And no, I didn't fangirl Logan, I grew up around a bunch of real life Logan types (without the soft center) so the yakboy thing was very off-putting to me. I was Fang all the way until I ran his story and then felt icky about marrying such a traumatized character.

100%, especially because many of his reactions are basically an uncomfortable giggle followed by a ''aaanyway'' kinda response to change the subject asap

I agree, so much of what I've seen for Logan's romance stuff really just kinda smacks of "this is fanservice and we're making sure you know it's fanservice. We're giving you what you asked for, see? Are you happy now?" Poking fun at the players and the community is fine, that's what you have gag characters like Lumi or Bronco for, but doing that in the actual romance feels tone deaf at best and just straight-up mean-spirited at worst. It would be one thing if those kinds of options didn't also tend to come off the back of some pretty heavy moments, like "I'm in love with you" right off the back of "this is why my dad died"? Yikes.

And the "player-coerced" bit is only part of the truth, they teased Logan as an option for a very long time before finally confirming it to help build up hype around the game, they're not exactly innocent victims of their rabid fanbase (there was an official shirtless Logan cosplay photoshoot I wanna say was released shortly after the game hit early access? Even if they didn't expect Logan to get the kind of attention he did initially, they sure have capitalized on it since then). Were there people who took the request too far? Absolutely, and I'm not here to defend them. But if Pathea didn't want to do a Logan romance, they could have said "no we're not doing that" in black-and-white terms. They were pretty firm about Haru and Pen being off the roster despite the backlash those announcements received, so it's not like they don't know how to say no
