Looking for Canvas specs or canvas

Not sure if a bug or it has just really changed. I use to be able to buy canvas from the tailor shop but now I cannot find it anywhere, it also tells me I need the specs to make it myself and to get it from the commerce store but it hasn't shown up. I need t to make shoes for the animals, been waiting for quite awhile for it to show up for it. Am I missing something? or is it a bug?

Recipes are progression locked behind the MSQ.

Materials that can be bought from the NPCs return over the course of days until fully stocked up. I want to say the refresh rate per day is dependent on the qty, but I haven't tested that theory out. I just know the items do get replenished.

Tailor Made is the shop that allows you to buy (I believe) 5 Canvas at a time. You may need to wait 5 full days before being able to buy that amount again.

I also have the same issue, there is no canvas recipe in the commerce guild to buy as it suggests in the tailor machine its been 30 in game days and nothing.

"Appetite for Construction" is the Main Story Quest you must finish before Canvas recipe is available.

If you don't mind sequence breaking you could do what I did and head to the Valley of Whispers early and kill Masked Fiend, and PlierImp. they are level 28-31.

If your sewing machine is in the factory, take it out. There, the recipes appear, it worked for me, I hope it will be the same for you.

Okay I just got that mission so hopefully it will show up after I finish it. As for the tailor shop it doesn't sell it right now at least for me it doesn't, I know it has before as this is my 3rd play through and I know the shops replenish but it hasn't been in it at all but I am still early in this play through. I started over when it came out fully. I have been sitting on this quest for shoes for awhile so was surprised I couldn't do canvas or find it anywhere. i will work on the quest tonight and hopefully it will open :) Thank you.

I don't have the factory, hoping I just need to unlock it now through a quest, my last play through it was available through the tailor but doesn't seem to be right now. I am in the early part of the game but thank you, I will keep that in mind if I have issues down the road

There's no deadline on the mission to make the pet shoes. If the materials aren't available yet, then you'll just have to wait until they are. There are a lot of missions like that.

ok i have the same problem both with canvas and with cromium bar, niether recipies are available at commerce store despite me having a quests involving said items. but the pet shoe quest came to me in the first game month, why is canvas not availbale sooner if this is one of the early quests?

I'm sure there are reasons that the materials and recipes aren't available early in the game. The real question is why the mission is available, but only the developers could tell us that. It doesn't really matter, though, as long as there is no deadline.

I still think they should have a check on quests to make sure ALL the required materials are actually available at the player's current status in the story line. As it is now it is far too easy to get a quest that you simply cannot do because of story locked materials with no way to check before accepting or declining.

I had the same problem. Eventually, the main quest unlocked canvas and I was able to finish it. Although this game mostly runs smoothly, this is something that should be fixed. Either unlock canvas with the first quest that needs it, or move the pet shoes quest to a later point in the game. This isn't game breaking, but it is annoying to have impossible quests cluttering up the quest log.

Tell me about it. At the same time I had the pet shoes commission waiting for canvas I had 8 or 9 other commissions active waiting for the required materials to become available. Those were serious stressors for some reason.
