Stockpile so you can just immediately fill almost all commissions, then refill the stockpile each day after completing the missions/commissions.

As the above poster mentioned, I like to stock items. At the end of the day, I click through, see what I'm low on and stock up, especially items that I know are tied to commissions. That way you can pick up the commissions in the morning and they are already done, you just have to turn in. You can also make a lot of money fishing if you have't tried that too much. I usually do it in my down time.

Buy or rent a mount, and use it.
Buy the recipe for the Commission Tracker from the guild store as soon as you can afford it, and make two of them. Put one inside near your bed, and the other one outside wherever you think is convenient.
Make manual saves. Don't rely on the Autosave system as your backup, because you have no real control over how long an Autosave will last.
